RT @paul_grech: Best of luck to Deale Chamberlain, Alex Cooper, Steve Irwin, Nicolas Saric and Sean Highdale who have been released by #LFC

I though that Steve Irwin was highly thought of. Crikey!

Also.....
It seems #LFC have taken up the 12-month extension option on Kyrgiakos' contract, though it does not guarantee he won't still be sold. #LFC

And you wonder why you didn't win an award. 😉

I thought the lad Saric was supposed to be the next big thing?

lets hope some of the new boys can come through and make the grade.

Highdale was highly rated a few years back and was then in a car accident. Not sure if that had a long term affect on his progress or not

[/quote]And Mrs Saric.

Saric never really got going at this club sadly. I still believe he's got a great talent but perhaps not as big as I hoped for in the first place. Got most of his first season mared by a bad injury and failed to make an impact afterwards. Has been on the move since January actually.

Steve Irwin is a bit of surprise exit to me though, always thought he looked decent.

Steve Irwin always looked a good player. Good engine, good range of passing... little chubby though.

Wonder where he'll end up.

My thoughts as well mate. And agree he's looked a bit on the chubby side and almost no taller than Spearing.

For a footballer a bit on the 'chubby' side.

In real life, slim-like.

is any of that list worth a punt as backup? Cant see any that jump out at me!

Shock release for me is reo-coker!

There are some pretty decent players who are available for free, though obviously they will be past their best, some of them significantly so.

I can't see us signing any of them and to be fair there are no names that scream out but there is more quality on there than there has been some other years, and I would imagine some of them will prove to be bargains for some clubs

If there were any decent enough strikers there it would be tempting to go for them as back up for a year

Sign up Tom Cruise!
Sings highway to the danger zone before legging it.

If we're still looking for seasoned vets to be the backup keeper while Gulacsi goes out on loan - wouldn't Hahnemann or Taylor be more proper options as opposed to someone like Doni? Not sure how they did in these couple of seasons, but they've got league experience on their side and are sufficiently ancient enough to not kick up a fuss about not playing much. Anyone?

Yes that would make sense. I assumed we had already signed that other fella.
