I can not believe our luck when it comes to the French-born Juve-player with Guinean blood running through his vains, Paul Pogba.

He is no longer in Manchester and it beggars belief why on earth they have let this monster of a central midfielder ever leave.

He is big, we are talking Sakho big almost, winning everything in the air within a radius of 5 yards as he's fast too. We are talking Gerrard fast if not even faster. He's amazingly skilled on the ball, and with technique like few in his position on the field anywhere and he's seemingly quite impossible to disposes of the ball as well as leave stranded.

Got a belter of a shot in him too, "Paul the Octopus".

To me he looks like one of the most accomplished and complete footballers in the game today and I am simply stunned as to why he's no longer a Red Devil.

Praise the Lord!

May I just add, if our American owners REALLY want to show their intent, they should break the bank for this lad, I wouldn't mind paying Bale-money for him. He'd be bossing the Prem for at least the next 12-14 years.

He's a phenomenal player and he'd make Manure a far far better player if he was starting in the middle of the park. What a fantastic player.

The one that got away from them eh?

Good stuff.

They hardly had a choice seeing as how he let his contract run out. They wanted him to sign a new deal but he refused as he wanted regular football.

Was it not of case of Fergusson claiming he wasn't ready yet? Pogba wanted to play. He felt he wouldnt get game time at United and left. He went straight into the Juve team I think and has been a beast for them.

Pogba & Vidal in midfield for Juve.

What a duo.

Despite not getting the best of starts last night in Copenhagen (down to a Swedish goalkeepers miracle performance), I still see them as firm outsiders to the ChL title.

Those two, Vidal and Pogba, alongside Pirlo, Tevez, Vucinic, Llorente, Chiellini, Buffon et all is up there with the very best. .

You would pay 90m for Paul Pogba?

Fuck me.

If you want to go after a wildly unrealistic midfield transfer target, personally I would like to see Gundogan, or possibly Kroos if the minutes aren't there.

Well those are obvious top notch as well, but I still think they are not quite as unique as a type as Pogba, hence why I believe it would be worth the longest shot ever to convince to come back and haunt the Mancs.

Playing for us.

Really made an effort here to come up with an interesting title that would please the Onky, and then this, you go all accountant on me instead and don't even appreciate it my efforts one bit? Cold.

This place makes the Antarctica seem all warm and fuzzy.

Pogba is a fantastic talent, and I see your point, but especially in midfield I feel like attacking players hold more value than defensive/central. Typically, teams struggle because of a lack of creativity in midfield, not a lack of steel: an average DM type player is a lot more helpful to the team than an average AM. It's much more important to have players who can be an outlet from the MF and spring attacks and relieve pressure than have deeper lying players to soak it up.

A Busquets/Pogba is a fantastic option to have in the midfield, but if your cutting edge is Joe Cole it isn't nearly as effective as having a Lucas/Parker type holding with a Gundogan supporting the attack.

I agree with your overall sentiment I really do, I don't agree however that Pogba is comparable to Busquet or Masher or Lucas in anyways.

Yes he can do everything they can but he is also a creative outlet, with an amazing eye for the defense splitting pass, a very good touch and got pace to burn as well, which means he can move the ball forward at pace on the ground, even turn a few defenders. Even in tiny little areas he shows technical ability you'd normally only see in player of smaller stature.

He is also a physical masterpiece, and is winning everything in the air without looking to break a sweat. I am amazed.

Don't get me wrong he's only 20 and not the finished article but MAN he looks like one of the most accomplished players I have seen since... yeah... since Gerrard in his prime perhaps or an even better version of Vieira at his peak.

I bet even Ryan wouldn't love Lucas less if he could do this:

This last one is fun, filmed from the stands (his first goal in the above click)

That was great to get the angle from the stands to see the swerve. Beauty.

It's almost Roberto Carlos swerve that. Quite amazing goal.

And does he actually start to celebrate before it even hits the net? He's got confidence.

He uncannily looks like the fellow who left Man City.... Batolelli (sic)?

He does yeah and he's got crazy hair too.

I don't think he's anywhere near as complex a person however. Just flashy and slightly cocky.
