The worst thing with Salah is that the Frankfurt game was the ideal game for him to walk into and get a goal or assist to reignite his confidence.
Worse more because, before his entrance, we had seen incredibly unselfish "team work" that lead to goals. If Salah was in Wirtz position for the Gakpo goal, he'd have shot and probably squadered the chance. Salah then came on and didn't think about being more team focused, he came on for personal glory "again" and we looked disjointed as a result. He was poor, selfish and a distraction, like he has been all season.
That said, I do think he is the one who is struggling the most over Jota, but he needs to accept that his game now needs to be more micromanaged for the benefit of him and the club. If we persevere with trying to make it work for 90 minutes every week, we'll fail. It seems pretty obvious that we can't play too much with both Wirtz and Salah. Salah will offer little in terms of team play and will squander possession, and Wirzt will squander possession and get out-muscled while he gets to grips with the team and the league. The two of them, at least for the moment, just doesn't work and Wirzt looked pretty good taking up some positions on the right side.
We have options, and Slot is an absolute shitbag if he doesn't grow a pair and use them.
