I think Bradders starts at RB as he started both games for N. Ireland, so he’s ahead of Frimpong on fitness. Plus he deserves to stake his claim to the starting RB spot - I’m excited to follow his progress this season.
In midfield there is a strong case to be made for resting Macca after his travels - Slot will surely have flashbacks from last season’s game vs Nottingham Forest. Szobo is in undroppable form too. Hopefully we can keep possession better than our last 3 games so Wirtz can finally dictate play and show his quality.

“A number of good games sporadically….”! I just can’t fathom that view, he has been a great signing and usually one of our better players. That’s why he started in the vast majority of games under Klopp and subsequently under Slot, they both realise his importance to the team.
And your view that we bought Wirtz because Szobozlai was underperforming is as crazy as those posters who last season were suggesting Jones should start ahead of Szobozlai! Even with Wirtz playing Slot has picked Dom to start in the charity shield and all 3 league games.
Wirtz, Frimpong, Ekitike, Isak etc were signed because Slot does not want “squad players” he wants 22 first team players. Why else would we sign Ekitike & Isak, why sign Frimpong when we have Bradley, why sign Wirtz when we have Szobozlai.
We will play 60+ games this season and we want to challenge for all 4 trophies; squad players are no longer good enough.
Most of our players will start in about 30 games this season and Slot will rotate to keep his players as fresh as possible
Look at Arsenal’s squad, 2 top players for every position (except centre forward where Arteta keeps fucking up). Yesterday they lost odegard early, no saka or Rice and still won comfortably…….they worry me this season but I’m hoping their shit centre forward options hamper them.
