Of course I didn’t take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present. It was her birthday. Would I have got married in the football season? Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.
I'm less worried about Wirtz than some. He struggled at times against Bournemouth (yet still but in a complete fine performance) because they pressed expertly, with intensity, as a well structured unit.
I'm certainly expecting even more intensity from Newcastle today, but I'm also expecting it to be more emotional and rash, thus perhaps a little less organised as a result. Wirtz is a clever technical player, if he keeps his wits about him, I think he can take advantage of this.
Although tbf, Joelinton will probably just repeatedly kick him to the floor, and the gormless ref will do fuck all about it cos fouls don't seem to count in the premier league if there's a few decebles of noise, and the person being kicked is good at football.
Can someone please put a reminder in their calendar for early September so we can let the lads know they have a couple of months to get their wives up the duff?
Cheers
