Pre Match Pre Match - PL - Bournemouth (H) - Friday 20:00

it’s quite often the match you expect the least resistance in that you actually struggle with.

they’ve known for something like 6 weeks they play us, they have a fantastic coach and we’ve looked really ropey defensively ourselves. obviously hoping for a nice result but i wouldn’t be surprised to see a struggle.

We're gonna slap em up. By 5 goals minimum.

All that ropey shit was just to give the opposition a false sense of security for when the real shit kicks off.

Game one and the jinxy shite is already being passed around like gonorrhea.

Can we make it a rule that jinxy fuckers get 10 times the abuse the players get when we lose games widely jinx-talked up as massive wins!!!

I’m starting to feel like praying we get a scrappy 1-1 draw!!!!!

Come on, when have you ever known me not to be.

Like.. always!!! 🤪

Your last spectacular effort was proclaiming no English clubs had any interest in signing Harvey - and within 12 hours he was being linked to Palace.

I've yet to hear of any interest from either the player's camp or the clubs side outside of Leipzig.

Some randomers on the internet wanting to force a swap move involving Guehi isn't a club showing genuine interest, it's just pushing through a narrative.

Opening day is always a banana skin, but if we're going to mount a serious title defence then we have to be taking 3 points from Bournemouth at home, especially a Bournemouth side that has been decimated since last season.
A routine win please, and some improved cohesion between the players, then we've got more than a week to drill things on the training ground before our first grudge match of the season against the Barcodes.

Yeah - I think the formula to disrupt us is clear - attack us down the flanks at pace and hit us on brutal counter attacks. And Slot wants teams to take the risk as he backs our counter attacks if we turn over to be more dangerous.

As long as we respect these guys and play compact once we have the lead, we should win comfortably. There is no Grav so MF is going to be where we are most weakest. We can't CJ playing 6. Mac and Endo in the double pivot and Wirtz high up

I think the key line is "routine win". I want boring, effective, controlled football. The opposition doesn't get a sniff and we do enough to win by a couple. A clean sheet would be a bonus but I'm not expecting it.

But Cutis is a generational talent.

We had a great start last season and we need another one this. Aside from last season, the margins for error are usually so fine, dropped points at home to teams like Bournemouth, as good as they are, can't happen. Also, you don't want to spend the amount of money we have and not start well, it will invite pressure.

Yeah - needs to be a bit more solid before tap in Romano picks it up and starts claiming an exclusive.

Fuck no - we’ll be in for another emotional roller coaster that’ll have us demented by the end of the season… or more demented if that’s possible.

We don’t do routine or simple.

In Rome right now. Anyone know good spots to watch the match?

I've found Highlander Bar this far. Looks like Scholars Lounge might be another option.

Not sure if either of these are good or whether there are other/better options.
