I think Klopp is going to be making a lot of changes to the team for this game.
I expect a team of squad players and youths.

Kelleher

Williams
Gomez
Philips
Tsimikas

Morton
Jones
Ox

Minamino
Origi
Gordon - if he's fit

Something like that.

I like that team - have my doubts that Klopp will change so much, but maybe.

Gomez to captain?

Who gives a fuck man we just trounced Utd 5-0 at old twatford, Barney the Dinosaur could’ve created this pre match for all I care.

Expect 11 changes.

Kelleher Williams Gomez Phillips Tsimikas Morton Ox Jones Minamino Origi Gordon

But Klopp went pretty strong at Norwich didn’t he? Wouldn’t surprise me if Mane started.

Midfielders in the reserves who are in contention:
Morton
Clayton
Norris

Attackers:
Gordon, if he's back from injury
Balagizi
Musialowski

These are great games for player development. It gives these players a chance to stake a claim, improves their value as well. Going further is important as stronger opposition awaits. Giving younger players even more experience.

I like Preston. Pity money hasn't gone there.Been said they are a sleeping giant. Looking forward to it. Always good to see the potential we have.

I assume Kelleher is over the shits. I'm not sure if Gomez is fit, I'm sure Klopp said something about him getting there but not being ready yet? So Gomez but if not then Konate can play again, he's young and fit. Morton should be a shoe-in.

Team below should be good enough against a PNE team down in the lower reaches of the Championship.

-------------------------------- Kelleher

Williams ------- Phillips -------------- Gomez ----------- Tsimikas

------------------------------- Morton

---------------------- Ox --------------- Jones

-- Gordon --------------- Origi ------------------ Minamino

Konate should keep his place for Brighton after the game against Utd, imho.

Kelleher

Neco Phillips Gomez Tsimikas

Ox Morton Dixon-Bonner

Gordon Origi Minamino

Oh was Gomez injured again?

As well as Konate did, I'd be very surprised if Matip didn't come back in for Brighton.

Wouldn't mind seeing Konate, Gomez and Phillips all start this one and then you could have Neco Williams and The Greek as wing backs. Ox will surely start and if Fabinho trains these next few days I wouldn't be shocked to see him play a part. Possibly even Mane too.

Modo whipping his second-rate game match thread dick on the table. Risky business.

Let's hope The Nomad recovers in time to make a late push for match entry

Would hope to see something like this:

Kelleher
Neco Nat Gomez Tsimikas
Morton
Ox Minamino
Gordon Origi Polish Messi

If truth be told we could have sent these out at Old Toilet and saved the whole first eleven for the game against Brighton. .....might have only won 0-2 though.

Anyway, onto this game. Absolute full rotation. Protect all CMs and play two from the U23s.

--------------Kelleher----------------
Neco--Gomez--Konate--Tsimikas
--------Morton---Clayton-------------- never seen Clayton play but he partners Morton in CM for U23s
-----------------Ox-----------------------
Gordon-----Minamino----Origi----

We are down to bare bones in midfield waiting to see outcomes of Milner & Keita. Jones should absolutely not be risked in this one.

I'd play Phillips and Gomez at centre half with Matip as holding midfielder.
He will need the practice there for when Fabinho, Hendo, Milner and all our other midfielders are simultaneously injured.
