Where do we go from here? There’s no early updates on those who are injured. Gravy and Isak are training. No news on Jones. I’m guessing Ali, Frimpong, Leoni and Badger are deffo out.

Like I wanted against Frankfurt, a solid back line with no instructions to bomb forward at will.

Mamardashvili
Bradley
Konate
Van dijk
Kerkez
Gravenberch
Szoboszlai
Wirtz
Salah plays no matter what
Ekitike
Gakpo

Bench

Woodman
Gomez
Robbo
Endo
Jones
Mac
Isak
Chiesa
Nyoni
Ngumoha

I can’t remember if I’m adding one too many or too few on the bench.

I can't even be arsed predicting, because we know it's so predictable. Throw the same shit at a wall and hope it sticks. Same old.

What I hope for, that'll never happen:

-----------------Mamardashvili--------------
Bradley------Konate-------VVD-----Robbo
-----------------Gravenberch---------------
---------Szobo----------------Macca-------
---Wirtz----------Ekitike---------Chiesa---

If Kerkez plays, i will not watch it

If teams press us, we cant beat the press becuase kerkez and bradley are real bad and Salah can no longer take the ball into feet

if teams sit back, we open on the break

theres no solution

If robbo and szobo play LB and RB we can beat the press

btw - that is some high quality analysis for you guys to understand

I think we need the wide forwards to be good enough to beat the press and have the full backs to overlap and not underlap to be successful. I’d like them to be less gung ho and keep a flat back four more than they are.

It would help if Salah stopped either kicking the ball into row Z or the nearest defender. We're practically guaranteed to overturn possession every time he gets the ball and no amount of fullback tinkering will change that. Funny how the whole right side of our team has looked shite all season, probably because only half of it is functional and that half is barely functional without the other half being remotely able.

Something like this might actually be worth considering at this fucking diabolical point:

--------------------Mama-------------------
----------Konate-----------VVD------------
--Szobo-----------Endo-----------Robbo--
--------------Gravy-----Macca-------------
------FW/FC-------Isak------Ekitike--------

I'd pay good money to see that line up.

Salah and Gakpo will start.
Wirtz will be in a midfield 3.
Neither Chiesa nor Rio will be used.

Let's hope this is the last game he'll get to throw away before he gets the sack.

I like that. But switch Wirtz and Chiesa so they can come in onto their strong foot.

They’ve had a week to work on training and work on long balls and set pieces etc. they’ll have had a week to rest.

As long as I see a big step forward and some solid form of response as opposed to the same tepid approach to kick off that we seem to get every week, that’s a good start.

He’s spent a fortune on his forwards and he will have a plan in mind that I don’t think he will deviate from.

It will be the usual 433 with Wirtz behind the three.

Yeah this is a massive game, probably the biggest one for Slot so far. No hiding if he fucks this one up after yesterday's debacle

If we lose, we're going to start looking for other managers. He might even get sacked.

If we draw he'll get a stay of execution.

Robbo hasn't been brilliant but I'd go back to last season where he sat back almost in a three and let the RB bomb on. Might work in lieu of having any defensive nouse in MF. Endo isn't the answer to that.

Even if the defence don't shit the bed, our controlled pedestrian attacking will likely struggle, especially if they're having to carry Mo, Flo and Gakpo. Thank God for Hugo.

I think Kerkez needs dropping but then wondered... what about a variation on last night as it worked so well ha...

------------- Marma
Bradley -- Konate -- VVD -- Robbo
-------- Szobo --- Grav --- Kerkez
--- Salah ---- Wirtz
-------------- Ekitike

Robbo's legs have gone but he has a bit more quality on the ball. What if we tried Kerkez in front of him where the left-side compensates for the right somewhat?

Ekitike and Wirtz like to drift left anyways - supposedly - so that opens up some more space for them too.
