Modo

A contentious scando

Scenario:
Last game of the season. Liverpool and Man U are tied at 82 points but we're ahead on goal difference.
Man U play Bolton at home and we're up against Man City away.

Rafa replaced Mancini after a terrible start to the season.

We effectively need a win to secure the premiership.

What do you think Rafa would do?

Help us end our +20 year drought or go for the win?

He'd play a couple of players really badly out of position completely upsetting his own teams rhythm but perfectly aligning his own team to counter the attacking threat from our centre backs.

Some LFC fans would think it was done to help us win, others would think he's daft.

Just wanted to add that Man City fans would probably rather see us win it than Man U.

He'd do what he is paid to do, like every half decent manager.

You're referring to when Blackburn lost at Anfield but won the league while the King was their manager. I remember that game.
Watched it with my Man U supporting brother. Happy memories.

Thats your answer Modo.

I honestly believe Rafa would find a way of losing the game whilst making it look like a typical Rafa ' we should've/could've won' performance.

But isn't it different Avvy? By 1994 United had won the title once maybe twice for like 26 years. We never thought they'd catch up and pass us....
Isn't there more of a hunger for the title now?

From us,sure mate..

But Rafa is a professional manager who'd set up his team for the win at all costs. Although theres every chance he'd mess up the tactics and lose ;D
