Pub World Cup Final Rounds

We do, but within our budget. We don't want to fuck ourselves over on other deals. Ibou is very very good but he's not exactly generational.
The issue is getting a CB that is as good (who?) and affordable (again who?)? I don't think Guehi is that man but we'll see (I hope).

Otherwise I think it's fair to pay the man a wage worthy of his abilities (obviously not to VvD level salary but I would be shocked if he was expecting anything like that). And the fact he's looking for a wage increase doesn't suggest he's looking to move on - but the more we dither the more RM will come sniffing (especially after that horrendous CB performance vs PSG).

What happened to Rudiger? He used to be good
You sure it was Rudiger? It could have been a doppelganger

IMO Guehi is certainly good enough. It remains to be seen what fee Palace will want for him and we certainly shouldn't allow ourselves to be bent over about that, but the quality is defo there IMO and he's home-grown to boot.

We shouldn't be handing round the KY jelly over Ibou's salary either. The question of what kind of wage would be worthy of his abilities isn't just for the player and his advisers to decide.

Ibou would be wise to think twice about Real - there’s a good chance Alonso isn’t their manager next season.

They look like a fucking mess all over the pitch.

PSG, on the other hand… actually look like they could dominate Europe for a couple of seasons.

Would be lovely to see Madrid stink the place out again next season and Alonso get sacked and the new manager dump Trent.

I think we're spoiled that we have VVD to compare every other centre back to. I think a top performing Ibou and even JoGo at his best are probably as good as any centre backs we've had in the last 20-30 years, apart from Sami.

Henchoz was only good for a couple of seasons and the likes of Lovren, Sakho, Skrtel, Agger etc were all varying levels of decent but not exceptional, for various reasons. Carragher was a very good defender but was limited technically compared to others.

If Konate is fit, he's an exceptional asset, the big problem with him is staying fit and keeping his weight right, sometimes he looks a bit overweight and sluggish and he takes a while to get back to his best following an injury. If fit though it's a top class partnership. Like I said in the Ibou thread though and about Diaz, if they want to go I'd rather them not be allowed to screw the club over and stink the place out.
