Following last night's 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool, Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said that to write-off the Reds from a Premier League title chase would be "crazy".
"My team never gave up, they are an honest crew who will work right to the end, but Liverpool were on a different level," he told Sky Sports.
"To write them off after one defeat on the opening weekend is crazy.
"They will be up there fighting for the title again, I have no doubt about that."
The former Plymouth Argyle gaffer gave full credit to the men from Merseyside for putting out a stunning display of football.
"I have no complaints about the result," said Pulis.
"Gerrard's piece of skill to create the third [goal] was world class.
"And Johnson and Kuyt down the right gave us loads of problems all night. They are both fine players and that partnership will give a lot of teams plenty of problems this season."
Stoke's next challenge is an away game against newly promoted Birmingham City on Saturday.
