Following last night's 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool, Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said that to write-off the Reds from a Premier League title chase would be "crazy".

"My team never gave up, they are an honest crew who will work right to the end, but Liverpool were on a different level," he told Sky Sports.

"To write them off after one defeat on the opening weekend is crazy.

"They will be up there fighting for the title again, I have no doubt about that."

The former Plymouth Argyle gaffer gave full credit to the men from Merseyside for putting out a stunning display of football.

"I have no complaints about the result," said Pulis.

"Gerrard's piece of skill to create the third [goal] was world class.

"And Johnson and Kuyt down the right gave us loads of problems all night. They are both fine players and that partnership will give a lot of teams plenty of problems this season."

Stoke's next challenge is an away game against newly promoted Birmingham City on Saturday.

I don't begrudge them really. They don't have the players to play decent football, so they do what they can to survive.

West Brom tried to play football "the right way" and got their asses handed to them week in, week out. Now they can try play pretty football again in the Championship.

I don't mind Stoke. Watching them againt some of the bigger teams can actually be very entertaining. Rather than roll over they actually have something even the big boys have to worry about.

Hate watching us play them though.

They're not too dissimilar from the Bolton side that came up and did so well - just with a much more likeable manager

Shame he has to look like he's coaching an under ten side.

Their fans deserve a mention too. Great effort.

Heh, of course and I very much enjoyed it too. But the first half before the 2nd goal when they were getting throws and free kicks non stop was nervewrecking.
