Shut it! Mourinho tells Chelsea boss Benitez to 'mind his own business'

Contrast: Benitez and Mourinho during their time in the Premier League
Jose Mourinho has reacted angrily to comments made by Chelsea interim manager Rafa Benitez about Real Madrid, according to the Daily Mail.

The Spaniard was speaking during a radio interview in his homeland when he was informed that Madrid were interested in employing him at the end of the season.

‘I know things, but I am not going to say anything about Real Madrid because I don’t think I should,' he replied.

Benitez's answer has fuelled speculation that he has been lined up to replace Mourinho - who is widely expected to leave in the summer after falling out with the Bernabeu hierarchy.
The Portuguese responded by saying: ‘As a Chelsea fan, all I can say is that I hope he was not thinking about Real Madrid during the Corinthians game.’

The snipe refers to Chelsea's 1-0 loss against the Brazilian team in the final of the Club World Cup - a trophy that Benitez has previously won after taking over an Inter Milan side that had won the Champions League under Mourinho.

Can anyone really see Madrid approaching Rafa for next year?

I know he has to take the job if offered, but from one shit job to another shit one with regards to stability, meddlesome owners etc? If he thinks H&G or Roman is bad ....
Real would seem like a free hand having worked under Roman.

Rafa has had cross words with every 'boss' he's had at a big club. Valencia, Liverpool and Milan - he fell out with all of them. If they go on a memory of him from 10-12 years ago they'll be making a mistake.

However, would he be a good manager of RM? Yes, in my opinion.

Madrid lost again i see and Casillas was dropped for the game . It would be great if the mighty mourinho was sacked before the season's end .

Mourinho is gone at the end of the season. That much has been known for a while now.

If Rafa gets the opportunity to manage them he should jump on it. It is after all his boyhood club.

Rafa's just bigging up his own profile, given he's a stop gap at Chelsea, he's doing his best to pounce on the notion that another big club want him, to give his side some weight against Roman, reverse psychology and all that. Fair play.

But I think Real actually would be interested in him.
2 time league winner, and a wonderful record in Europe with Liverpool.
He's the most underrated manager in England, but he's still held in high regards on the continent.

And he hates Mourinho, of course.

Rafa would be the right person to rebuild Real.
Get more players in from the Castilla and turn Real into less of a "galactico team".

He's never really 'built' a long term project. Was given a very good Valencia team and took them to the next level. Was given a 'meh' Liverpool team, built something nice and then proceeded to start destroying it. Was given a brilliant Inter team and was let go within 1/2 a year. He's not really got a great track record of building anything ... and with a project like Madrid? No one is going to 'rebuild' that - not anyone who's human anyways.

Nooo, not another roffa thread! Lads can we set a quota on debates on rafa. One a year? Honestly there's such a divergence of views on his time with us. Never seen such differences over a manager before.

What ALT said.

I can't see Real getting to such a state as they'd decide to go for Rafa. It may well be his home club but the supporters despise, almost to a man, his style of football. We all know that Real demand style - almost above victory. Rafa won't get anywhere near the 5 years he needs to set a team up the way he wants.

To be honest I'm interested to see how he goes at the Chavs; I'm still not convinced he can handle ego's. He'll need to be able to do just that at Real so Roman's place could be a good training ground.

I prefer Rafa to go to Real or somewhere else in Europe rather than stay at Chelsea.

Same here. He'll have to leave his family behind if he does go to Real or anywhere else beyond Merseyside though.

Family can be relocated when there is good reason to do. I suppose they will want to go back to Spain one day.

I doubt that. When Real came sniffing around once before, Rafa's wife told him he'd have to go on his own, and he made it clear that his family weren't happy about leaving Merseyside when he took the Inter job. This is their home now.
