Will he believe again?

A couple of Man U friends posed this question to me today and they couldn’t believe it wouldn’t be an instant yes.

Taking the Utd vs Liverpool aspect out of the discussion as that would be an obvious ‘fuck off he’s a Manc cunt’ otherwise for most, would you swap them?

I wouldn’t. I think Rashford had a great season last year but needs to back it up to worth what we’d lose in Salah.

Look, I've always rated Rashford...think he's an exceptional player and perhaps the only Utd player I don't think is a cunt.

But this debate is mental, firstly Rashford plays predominately on the left and he relies on players like Bruno or Eriksen setting him away.....Salah is the vocal point, he starts the attacks and he's there to finish them (well, enough of them to score the amount he does).

If you'd have asked this 2 years ago it'd have been 100% no, if you'd have asked 12 months ago and for example he came out and said he wouldn't be signing a new deal.....then suddenly it's becomes a maybe, now? After the season Rashford's had and Salah is here for another 2 years.....it's more of a no.

I guess for those that would, you think Rashford would be able to continue the goal scoring numbers Mo left behind for the next 4-5 years and morph into a vocal point of the attack? I don't fancy the chances.

I think you mean focal point - unless we’re comparing their singing abilities 🙂

Go to, he is the go to man.....😉

Yes I meant focal point, thanks for correcting me.

Now if you ask in 12 months time......Rashford again hits 25 goals and Salah form dips ever so slightly........it may well be worth considering, but Rashford's just put
pen to paper on a new deal anyhow and I'd rather take the 100m Saudi money next summer so we can do our own thing.

But who do you reckon would win a rap battle between the 2?

Mo Salah is a World class player. Rashford isnt. Has never scored more than 17 league goals in a season. Salah’s worst season is 19.

There is no point even comparing them.

Whilst that’s all true, it’s also true they’re 6 years apart. Salah started his journey to being world class, with us, at 25, and hadn’t scored the goals Rashford has in a top 3 league before he joined.

I think the more pertinent question is - Who the fuck is 'Rashforsd'? - The answer (If I'm guessing correctly) is of course not you whopper!

They both scored 30 goals last season. Salah is 31, Rashford 25. What would Klopp do with a 25 year old Rashford?
The same what he’s done with every forward he works with…from Lewa to Reus to Blazjukowski, to Bobby to Mane to Salah to Nunez etc

As critical as I've been about Mo, still voted no. If Rashford does it again this year, then probably yes just because Mo will be another year older.

Rashford's good season last time out was no better than a supposed ordinary one for Mo. Rashford's previous season was poor and that could always happen again.

So: no, as in F**K NO.

Salah has had about 6 seasons of truly wonderful form. Rashford had half a season.

Fucking no

How is this even a debate?

Salah is in the convo for one of the best strikers to ever play in the premier league and Rashford has had one semi decent season and we are comparing the two?

Not comparing as that would be stupid, it was would you swap a 25 year old Rashford with years ahead of him for Salah who’s entering in his final year or two of major impact.

It's not really....hence the poll results, if you take away Dreamy's or Momo's vote of "yes"....it doesn't get much more unanimous than that.
I voted no and as I said in the OP it was the Utd fans who said I was crazy for not saying yes!

It's whether now, given their ages and trajectories, you would choose in a straight swap, not who is the better player.

It's a reasonable question. Who is the better player is beyond doubt.

Wouldnt swap them regardless. Season before last Rashford scored 4 goals. Mo can do that in his 40s.

I guess it is a reasonable question. Despite Rashfords slightly better season I would still say Salah based on the fact that between Nunez and Gakpo we have those type of qualities that Rashford has. Salah gives you something unique, those Messi esque tendancies that Rashford could only dream of.
