Rate the summer window

I am no fan of FSG but this year they've stepped up more than I could have imagined. Hughes has exceeded all expectation and he also got £10m for an out of contract waste man who is getting no love at madrid
Even though our performances have been unconvincing but I am not at all panicked.
I think its 9.9/10.0 as its stands and we get Guehi 12/10

What would have made it a 10/10?

A better winger than Chiesa?

A better midfielder than Jones?

An Elliott replacement?

Maybe a bit dumb, but I'm looking forward to the Southampton game. Want to see how our backups will do.

We would have signed 8 new players, thats two summer windows worth of signing

If Guehi and Isak arrive, it would be a 10 out of 10 and beyond anything I imagined at the start of the summer. I had hoped for Frimpong, Kerkez, Isak, and Guehi/CB, so Wirtz, Leoni, and Ekitike are all huge added bonuses.

I'm glad we've been bold and proactive in the market, and restructuing an attack that won a title but we all accepted needed work. I did not expect both Diaz and Nunez to both leave, given Jota's passing, but I’m satisfied that we’ve upgraded the attack and then some. The only niggle is the Konate contract situation, which I had hoped would be resolved, but I don't think it detracts from the excellent work completed.

To be an overwhelming negative nelly, I would have liked another DM. I also am not convinced on chiesa and Rio being the backup wingers. I know they've impacted the games recently but it's still a lot of pressure. But that's gilding the lily.

I don't like the idea of saying it's perfection 10/10

Without the benefit of knowing how all these signings will turn out, and with realism in there, it's a 10/10 window. I don't think anyone could have realistically expected more.

Rio is the fucking Messiah, give yourself 25 lashings right now.

There's always more you can do but realistically it's a 10/10 window. If you'd told us at the start of the summer we'd spend nearly half a billion on 7 top players including Wirtz and Isak - both of whom are bigger signings than any we've made since Torres - I don't think anyone would've believed it.

Even without Guehi it's still 10/10.

We managed to get good money for Diaz, Nunez and others.

We have two players for every position now. The squad is complete.

Does getting Guehi improve our starting line up?
I mean, after seeing Konate return to form yesterday, I'd say no.

Does it make our squad better?
Arguably yes, but that's because of Joe's injury history. Prime Gomez is just as good as Guehi or better considering his versatility.

Right now, we're fine and £35 - 40 mill richer.

With Isak and Guehi, it's an 8/10. That's taking the summer into isolation, if people want to start comparing it to summers of the last 5 years then it's easy to see it as a "10/10"

Ibou's contract would've made it a 9.

Getting £60-70m for Harvey/Gomez/Kostas would've made it a 10.

What's Konate's contract got to do with it? You can sign a player to a new deal whenever you want, it's not a transfer window thing.

I was only thinking about incomings. I would prefer to keep Jo if the best offer on table is £10m, however, we have 8 new players in (inc Guehi) the real struggle now begins into integrating them.

You can't really rate a window accurately without factoring in the outgoings. If we don't get Guehi nor Isak, the incomings are still of high quality but the overall window would be a 5/10.

A moon base.

star wars that's no moon GIF

Anyone saying less than 10/10 is daft.

Anything past Isak is a bonus.

With him it’s the greatest transfer window ever by any club.
Completely agree. I can't think of another window from any team that even comes close. The next months may be tricky as everyone really gets to know each other on and off the pitch, but the foundation is in place for the next 4-5 years.

I am still a little nervous about Ibou's contract and replacing Virgil in a few years, but can be addressed over next couple of windows. Replacing Quansah with Guehi for net £0 is a brilliant bit of business and, hopefully, Quansah pushes on and we buy him back in 2 years.

9, maybe a bit more.

None of us could've expected Isak & Wirtz to be here.

Guehi will be a very good player for us. Ekitike looks a player. We needed full backs & got a couple of young & hungry ones.

The position were in now is pinch yourself stuff really.

Thought about this picture earlier. It wasn't that long ago. Makes you realise we have little to really complain about nowadays with regards the club & squad.

Liverpool vs Napoli: Konchesky, Poulsen and Jovanovic all started at Anfield in 2010 – where are they now?

After signing Isak and Guehi while selling Elliott we are still behind Arsenal in terms of net spend.
80 mill more spent than Utd btw.

Its insane when you look at our window in terms of net spend to how ridiculously good it has been.

Richard Hughes, legend.
