Reina 5 - Can't really say much, all he did was pick the ball out of the net twice.

Johnson 5 - Erratic, indecisive and gave Bale too much space to run at initially, which cost us.

Skrtel 5 - Constantly covering the right side, but looked weary and too flustered when they broke

Agger 5 - Some good runs forward but indecisive play heading the ball back into danger zones.

Downing 4 - Isn't a defender and we know it, so should Rodgers. Never again.

Allen 4 - Poor, constantly looking for the easy option, passing it 5 yards and laughing when he gave the freekick away made me want to boot the telly.

Henderson 5.5 - Shouldn't have made way as he was constantly harrassing. Not good enough but better than Allen on recent offerings.Terrible miss though.

Gerrard 5.5 - Much improved second half after a sluggish first, some great passes but still nowhere near the quality he had.

Sterling 5.5 - Clever running but a bit naive and outmuscled.

Enrique 7 - Gave his all throughout, some poor decisions on a couple of chances but gave everything and never stopped wanting it.

Suarez 7 - Ditto Enrique, one of the few who looked like he gave a shit, worked tirelessly but should have buried the chance from Agger's overhead.

Shelvey - 6 good delivery and always positive
Assaidi - 5 woeful

Spurs made the most of the start, Bale was great for 20 minutes, much like Spurs. They reverted to looking like a meh side with one great player. Sound familiar?

Enrique looked noticeably worse when he played at LB for 10 minutes, his future is definitely further up the field.

Apart from the first goal I thought it was Downing best game of the season.

Enrique is our 2nd best goal threat after Suarez.

Our entire midfield got outmuscled time and time again on the ball.

Still alot better than expected before kick off and feared 12 minutes in.

We never get a sniff at WHL so to run them close is a step in the right direction.

Allen shouldn't be starting until Lucas is back ... For all the praise showered on him by Pesam and Ryan, I'm starting to worry that unless we have a system set up exactly like it was at Swansea, this lad won't be as good as advertised.

He's 22 and has a dip in form. Dont become one of the bandwagon people who automatically thinks someone one make it after some poor games.

2 matches in a row Henderson makes way when others were more deserving, not saying he was awesome or anything but he puts pressure on the opposition.

Joe Allen can't fucking tackle and doesn't know how to position himself to defend, not his fault he's the deepest center midfielder, that falls on the manager.

Gerrard of 2-3 years ago would have got a tackle in for the first goal

Glen Johnson left his touch in Liverpool

Sterling - some good, some bad

Depressing defeat

Sorry mate, we're trying to win games here. If a player is playing this poorly, bench him and put someone else on. We're playing with a middle 3 that are all not playing well - how on earth are we expecting to control the game? I know some will tell me 'movement,' 'further up the field,' 'defensive responsibilities' and I get that, but right now, he shouldn't be starting.

I can understand people's desperate need to find a scapegoat amongst all of that, but the reality is that none of the starting 11 were bad. Some didn't play great, but there wasn't anyone you could point a finger at and blame the defeat on.

Sure Downing got caught goal side for the first goal, but he's not a left back - what do you expect?

We were the better side, and but for more clinical finishing and perhaps a bit of luck we'd have won.

Sure that's the same old story, but we're not the basket case some on here are alluding to. We dominated today.

I'd point the finger at the manager to be honest.

Downing shouldn't be selected at LB against a side who are very strong down the flanks and when you're seeing the same problems played out week in, week out you kinda hope to see some evidence that the manager is coming up with some solutions.

I agree, it's unfair on Downing to put him there.

What are his options though Ken?

Agree Ken. Still the main problem is that he has no clue what would work, hence noone else does. Obviously including the (very thin according to someone managing much more competitive squads at Swansea) squad.

I think Gerrard is playing on reputation at the moment. That said so are 70% of the team and they have no reputation. Oh Woe.......

If he was any good he'd be playing. Rodgers has picked Sterling, Wisdom, and Suso out of the U-12's already.

I know what you mean, but he is a LB who has a fair bit of first team experience. I've no doubt he would be better there than Downing.

I dunno. Rodgers has shown he couldn't give a fuck for reputations or highly-paid players by brining in kids since he got here.

Robinson's arse hasn't even touched the bench. He just mustn't be all that.

He isn't. Don't believe the hype.

Every time I've seen Robinson play in the first team he's been decent. Which is more than I can say for fucking Stanley Devastating.

Robinson gets pushed off the ball far too easily and is suspect defensively in terms of his positioning.

I've watched him quite a few times for the reserves and i've never really been impressed.

He can run all day and is quick but that's not enough.

At i guess i'd say .........Enrique ? Yeah he's played a little better in a more attacking role and isn't the best defender himself but surely it would be a safer , more balanced move .

Ok maybe it's not all rodgers' fault but a full back and an attacking mid playing in reversed roles because of major flaws in their abilities to play their correct positions is just ridiculous and embarrassing .

Wisdom at right back, Johnson left back, Enrique left mid.

Or even bring Flanagan in, he can at least defend.

Flanagan's fucking terrible.

Johnson at left back disrupts our balance IMO.

We didn't lose today cos of who we had at left-back. We lost cos we couldn't put the ball in the net once ourselves despite having dominated the game, having the lion's share of possession, winning more fucking corners than Marlo Stanfield, or converting the presentable chances we were given.

Ryan to the rescue with what sounds like the reality.

Before I came on here (match started too late for me to stay up last night) I read 4 newspaper reports that all said we were the better team after 20 mins and that Spurs were even on the defensive for most of the rest of the match. The ESPN stats bear that out with 65-35% possession for us, after 20 mins it was 7 shots to 2 for Spurs but finished up 16 (7) to 17 (5) showing we came back into it.

I can't understand the ratings being posted because they don't jive unless it was an abysmal match with both teams utter crap.
