Just musing a little as I watch Match of the day as to the pressure of performing at a higher level regardless of ability.

Joe Allen has been exceptional for Stoke since his move from us, Gylfi Sigurðsson is again a stand out at Swansea after his nightmare at Spurs and Ibe is looking a real terror at bournmouth.

All three are great examples of players who struggle with playing for the biggest teams in England but can boss it at the lesser sides

Maybe, they're more comfortable with the style or formation?

In Bournmouth Ibe is being played as a winger, with us he was supposed to be more of a wingforward. Look at his stats though? Is he scoring and assisting regularly?
Can't say much about Gylfi though but maybe he's just more comfortable being the main man in the team like he is for Iceland.

Allen is definitely on form and is doing well in both club and international level.

How your opponents line up against you makes a difference too. Typically midtable and lower teams get more room to play from their competition.

One word and one word only.

Confidence
A number of words, a number of words only.

Basically yes, but there's more to it than that. Joe Allen is being played further forward at Stoke, we knew from his time at Anfield that he was pretty good at late runs into the box, he just wasn't too good at finishing them, at the Britannia he gets to make those runs more often in his new position and is finishing them well, I think a combination of a more attacking position and the confidence instilled in him from starting week in week out is whats responsible for his upturn in form. As for Ibe, he's benefiting from playing week after week in his favoured position, he's been good, but he's hardly setting the world alight though. Sigurdsson was always a good player though, even in his Spurs days, no surprised there.

I don't see a different Joe Allen to what I saw here from Feb - may last season , he's a decent footballer .he's getting more opportunities and is achieving more , I'm not too surprised by his good form .
