So, let’s say your Slot right now.

Why are we playing the way we are, but more importantly, what are your solutions?

This isn’t about apportioning blame to players or managers or people above, but more about solving the current slump.

What are the problems and what do we do going forward?

How would you solve this?

I would aim for a more solid midfield. Ideally that is Szoboszlai, Mac and Gravy. However, Mac isn’t fit so I would go for Jones.

We need a fit forward so that discounts Isak. Meaning Ekitike goes there.

Back 4 is a problem but I would pick Bradley at right back. The lad needs games. We know he’s solid in more ways than one. I recognise Konate needs dropping but his high is way above Gomez. Virgil is a legend. Left back depends on how Gakpo plays which annoys the fuck out of me. I am tempted to stick out with Kirkez. Only tempted.

Front line I think Salah offers little to the football side of life which adds more issues to Bradley and Szoboszlai. But goals.

Left side is a problem. I’m going Rio. That cunt will come back and go forward. Unpredictable. Added to the fact Gakpo needs a massive kick up his arse.

Seeing as Ali is dead here is my best XI right now.

Why dont you just say it, the issue is Wirtz, he is too lightweight to be one of the 3 in midfield. Problem solved

This isn't being a downer, but you have to consider that maybe there aren't remedies other than time and good coaching. I thought this would take time at the beginning of the season, but I ran out of patience about 5 games in because I'm simple and I was looking forward to watching good attacking football again, not even worse attacking football. The thing is though, for the like, 60 combined minutes weve played good football this season, we've looked really fucking good. So I don't know, ignore reality and focus on that?

Like every single individual personnel preference to me has significant drawbacks.

We must play Bradley! Hrm. I think Bradley hasn't looked great since his injury, isn't fully fit and firing, and benefited massively by being compared to someone who wasn't even bothering. I've never thought he's definitely a wonderful RB, I've just thought he's good and willing and was a breath of fresh air.

We can't play konate, he's error prone! Gomez can't head a ball and is also error prone.

Go back to playing Robertson! Yeah, I love Robertson, but there's a reason we were saying we absolutely need to buy a left back. Now we have one. If he's become shit overnight, that's our problem. We aren't using him enough.

Don't play wirtz. Ok, but if you play szobo there, ignoring the fact that wirtz hasn't actually been awful off the ball, then you've got to play macca, who seems to have about 40 mins in the tank. I think against some teams you switch things up for sure, but I don't think it's unreasonable to try to play him into form.

Play Endo! Oh yeah. That will help our buildup play.

Don't play Salah! Well, we don't really have a credible replacement other than in a fairly open game.

That's why I was bringing up gakpo, because we can actually change things there, especially for the last 30 or so.

I think slot has to do some coaching. This is where we see what he's made of. I don't think the right idea, now, is saying to everyone new, actually, I've seen enough. Turns out you aren't ready. Moreover, as above, the replacements are going to grate on you all as well. And by the way, maybe he isn't ready, I've got no clue.

But it wouldn't be systems or players so much as not being quite as risky centrally and trying always to break lines vertically through the middle.

What would I do? Id play Hades 2 and wait to be sacked. I couldn't handle the stress.

Salah
Ekitike
Isak

Isak plays left wing. I don't buy he's not fit for at least 60. In the little he's been out there ive already seen him be more effective and beat his man more than Cody. He can interchange and swap with ekitike too.

Tell kerkez to get up the line, and isak to actually pass to him.

Tell bradders to make his runs inside Salah and Szobo he needs to provide cover when this happens

Tell the whole fucking team to be braver on the ball and to move. Move the ball quicker too.

Tell wirtz he's playing well, just don't rush everything. He's now got Salah, Bradders, Ketkez, Tekkers and Isak to find, or to make space for him to shoot

That should do it.

Arne, are you reading?

The problem with playing an unfit Isak on the wing is that you already have Mo not tracking back on the right. Want to duplicate this on the other side too? Or do you neuter Isak's effectiveness by asking him to put in a shift?

I can't believe more people aren't advocating playing Chiesa as the guy is on form, scoring, assisting, can use either foot, absolutely fucking loves us and is working his bollocks off for the team. Plus giving him more game time gets him away from that cave troll he married.

Play Chiesa
Play Rio
Play Hugo

Play the players in form and are hungry.
Yeah but the way Slot is treating them he'll kill their hunger soon.
He's an asshole plain and simple. Yeah I understand the whole Dutch thing about being straightforward and not mincing words, I can even admire it to an extent, but this is straight up douchebaggery.

I genuinely don’t understand the need to play Mo right now. I’m a fan, but he either needs to rest or get his head sorted or both.
Hes not quick enough to be an outlet now either. At least Frimpong can out pace most and he know he can’t finish so will try to find someone who can instead. And, he will track back.

Personally, I’d go back to dom and gravy in the middle and rest mac. Or bring him on when the other team is tired. When they’re fresh, he’s getting overrun.
We need Mac back.

Can’t really bench Ibou as Gomez isn’t really better. Again, we need Ibou back but at least he’s fit so he stays but I’d play robbo instead of Kerkez to start. There’s clearly too much change or preseason wasn’t good enough for this level of change.

Up front makes no difference as there’s no service. I’d play Chiesa though. He’s in form and fit and hungry.

What we’re doing at the moment makes no sense and isn’t working.

Above all, if this is even possible, I’d work on cutting out silly unforced errors.

We have no idea if those three are carrying a knock or not.

I don't think player fitness is binary, sometimes they're only fit enough for the bench, but not fit enough to start. Or they could be risked to start, but chances of them picking up an injury are high etc.

The chances of my telly having my foot going through it increases when that OAP plays right wing.
