So did Klopp stick to his guns and there's going to be no senior players against Shrewsbury tomorrow?

I'd be annoyed we won't get to see keita and Fabinho for starters if this is the case. What about players like Jones and Elliott who train with the first team? Are they going to be in or out? If they're in is it simply because they are young? This wouldn't have a strong rationale behind it in my opinion.

I get stance, although I don't exactly agree with it. However I'll be disappointed if those fringe players don't play, namely Fabinho, Keita, Shaqiri, Origi and Co, I wont just be annoyed with Klopp, I'll be annoyed with the players for not knocking down his door demanding to play, they need the game time in them.

half of them already seem to be posting holiday photos so i'm expecting the Villa for this but maybe with Harvey & Jones in there given they're familiar with U23 team this season anyway.

Honestly, given how well they played against a much better Villa, the kids have a decent chance here, especially if they had one or two seniors to help them, like a Lallana. I think that's what makes it all the more frustrating.

Players should pipe up and say to Klopp, I want to play. If they are I can't see Klopp saying "No".

If the likes of Keita, Matip, Lallana, Shaq etc would rather go lie on a beach for a week than grab an opportunity to force their way into a team thats on the verge of rewriting the history books then I dont think they belong at Liverpool.

In the next 3 months we have the chance to
Shatter the premier league points total
Go unbeaten all season
Be the first English team to retain the CL
Win a treble

Somebody really needs to have a word with Klopp

Wow

If I'm honest, I wish he'd give the players who need games - Adrian, Keita, Lovren, Matip, Fabinho, Shaq (if healthy?) & Lallana games ... They need them

The problem with that there is that Dejan Lovren also needs the games. In which case we're doomed to be heading out the cup in all of the quantum realities. I'd rather take a chance on the youth team to pull something off.

One thing people have to understand is that injured players still train. In some cases the even train harder than everyone else in order to catch up fitness wise.
However, I do understand the sentiment that some of the fringe players should be available to play.
This is all about Klopp making a stance and I think he's right in doing so.

Is this the pre-match thread then? Or will Modo come with some nice facts etc in an official pre-match thread?

Anyway I am starting to get fired up for this one. Not sure which team will eventually pop up at Anfield, but our young guns should match a League 1 team so it can be an interesting game this.

Who is in form and who is not from that team? I expect a busy afternoon for the the back 4 (Williams, Berg, Laroucci and 1 more?) but hopefully we can control thegame well so we can see some attacking pressure from the fullbacks. Especially Williams supporting Elliot out rigth can be intersting.

Midfield will be Chirivella, Jones and one more?

Who is up front?

The fringe players should get a game under normal circumstances but its unlikely to go back on his word now.

If it wasn't the official "winter break" then I'd expect players like Adrian, Lallana, Matip, Fabinho, Minamino, Keita et al to get some much-needed game times to get some form and/or match fitness.

Bt it is, so they'll be on holiday

I'm treating this fixture like Klopp, I'm on break.

It's the mid season break. As far as I know the Premier League advised clubs NOT to arrange friendlies during this period. The FA in their wisdom decided to have FA cup replays during this period.

I'm hoping against hope that a channel somewhere in the world picks it up. A fair few years ago we had a replay that ended up being bought on the day by a random South African channel & broadcast.

I checked the live channels app this morning and there is very few places broadcasting it at the moment.
