Ryan lad. What's with the David Luiz hate? He's liek totally boss la.

He does this thing where he just stops after he's been turned. It happened about 5 times tonight, he gets caught way out of position, the opposition attack, he gets turned, and then stops. As if it's not even worth making another effort for. Have a look at Klose's goal tonight, it's still 1-0 at that stage, they're in the game, and that useless fucking cunt doesn't even bother.

I talked about that exact same thing from him nearly 2 years ago, here - http://sixcrazyminutes.com/index.php?threads/the-youtube-football-vids-thread.25646/#post-841971

The video from that youtube has been removed, so here it is again. Go to 1 min, 9 seconds, and watch Luiz after he gets turned:

Remarkable.

The cunt is absolutely appalling.

I forgot that this dickhead was also the CAPTAIN tonight. 'lads follow this, fucking wander all over the pitch doing sweet fuck all that you're meant to'.
He's so shit it's untrue. Wtf are PSG thinking with Marquinhos and Silva at the back, then putting this cunt next to them? For 50 fucking million.
At least he can take boss free kicks once a season.

Luiz has the flashy Brazilian skills with his free kicks and so-on, but as a defender he is a total liability. He just doesn't have the practical mentality that a good defender needs. I was surprised Scolari made him stand-in captain.

I can't believe that PSG were so naive as to pay Chelsea £50 million to sign Luiz and I wonder if there isn't some kind of shady offsetting transaction going on.

People who rate Luiz are the same people who claim Silva is the best CB in the world. Fucking cretins.

Brazil captain David Luiz: "Apologies to everybody, apologies to all the Brazilian people.
"I just wanted to see my people smile. We all know how important it was for me to see all of Brazil be happy, at least because of football.
"Germany were better than us. They prepared better. They played better.
"It's a very sad day but it's also a day from which to learn."

wonder if he learnt he's shite !

My favorite bit out of that calamitous performance was when he put Muller clean through on goal in the 2nd half, he didn't even look, just played a perfect reverse pass into the path of Muller who should have scored.

So apart from the reverse pass to Muller who should have scored, what did Luiz do that was so bad?

He could have been sent off twice in the first half for his usual trick of elbowing opponents in the face. The referee didn't see that, either accidentally or accidentally-on-purpose.

The Toni Kroos goal - the one where Khedira assited.

If you watch the goal closely, Germany have the ball at half way when Mats Hummels wins a long ball.

Hummels then dribbles the ball forward from the half way line through 3 Brazilian players.

At this point, David Luiz charges foward 10 metres from his position up the pitch in an attempt to tackle Hummels - leaving a German player (I think Khedira) he was meant to be marking wide open.

Luiz doesn't get to the ball and Hummels does, knocking the ball forward to the German player that Luiz was meant to be marking ... Brazil's defence left wide open in the middle ... 2 quick short passes later between Khedira & Kroos = goal.

Luiz's performance:

1-0: From a German corner, Luiz loses his man at the far post, enabling Thomas Mueller to cruise in and score the opener in the 11th minute.

2-0: Luiz allows Germany’s Toni Kroos to slide a through ball right by him, and ultimately into the path of Miroslav Klose, who doubles the lead on 23 minutes
.
3-0: Just a minute later, Luiz is in no man’s land as Kroos — in acres of space at the edge of the area — hammers home a first-time shot on goal.

4-0: There wasn’t much Luiz can do about this one as Brazil’s Fernandinho gives up the ball almost immediately from the restart, and Kroos pounces to score his second goal in the space of three minutes. Luiz is, however, very slack in tracking back

5-0: Luiz’s poorly timed, rushed-in tackle in the middle of the park allows Germany to cut right through the heart of Brazil’s defence, and Sami Khedira cashes in with a side-footed finish for his team’s fourth goal in seven minutes.

6-0: Second half now, and flat-footed and poorly positioned Luiz again allows a German attacker a free run into the box. This time it’s Andre Schurrle who pokes it home from close range after the ball is rolled in from the right.

7-0: Luiz is a good two metres behind Schurrle as the German races onto the ball on the left-side of the area and hits a free half-volley, which strikes the underside of the bar before nestling in the back of the net

Luiz is a woeful central defender, but he's a fantastic CM/DM. Nothing new here.

And on FIFA he's unfair to use as a Striker. Try it sometime.

Same goes for Marcelo. Constantly bombing up the wing in the first 25 mins, leaving LB position with no cover & Muller free on the counter.

To be fair though, if that's what Scolari's asked him to do, then he's just playing to instruction. And whoever was playing left wide (Bernard?) also has to share the blame for not helping to provide cover.

Nobody in the Brazilian team escapes blame except for probably Cesar and Willian. Not sure what role Paulinho and Ramires played / didn't play in the German goals in the second half as by then, I was probably past paying attention to the game. 😉

My favourite bit was when he tried to boot the ball at a German player and totally missed the ball.

Brilliant!

That was Muller he was aiming at too! 😀 I'm not sure if he was trying to do that though, or just trying to fake a studs up rake at Muller to scare him off, in retaliation to the strong challenge the German put in on him just a bit earlier. Either way, it looked ridiculous.

I acknowledge its in Marcelo's natural game to attack up that left side.Even if Scolari's instructions were to do so, it doesn't mean you do it without using your brain. It's the first 25 mins of a world cup semi final! Get settled. Watching Marcelo in the first 25 mins, you'd think Brazil were 1-0 down with a few minutes remaining in the game.

I agree Bernard barely provided much cover, but having said that Marcelo is an experienced international with big game experience at all levels - whereas Bernard is anything but.

I really hope those rumours linking us to Marcelo are nothing more.

He's still infinitely better in both attack and defense than Glen Johnson. I know that's not saying much anymore, but I would still like Marcelo in the 15-20M range. One of only a few fullbacks worth that price tag.

But besides all of that and the other times he was shite, he didn't put a single foot wrong, so...

I love watching David Luiz, as a defender he is shocking but for pure entertainment he's a superstar. PSG must be crazy.

You, me and everyone except UEFA.

(Platini has just found an unaccounted for €2M in his bank account - wonder how that got there).
