Sack watch

But like...

I don't remember in the years of Rafa where we would scrap for 4th or at those other moments where we could lose and draw this much and still be on track. It feels not normal
Everyone's shitter going for top 5 and everyone's better below.

There's still a gap, but it's arguably less than it's ever been

There have been many seasons where the four is lava.

Again, we have spotted ourselves 15 points.

Other than that, we'd not even think we were in it.

I have a theory that someone developed a test for one of the PEDs that City and ourselves have been using, and we had to urgently stop using it. That explains why we don't have the energy to close down the ball. And why Arsenal, despite being fairly average, are top of the league.

Basically says we’ve approached Xabi’s agent to see if he’d be interested in the future

I'd buy that theory. The level us and City reached over several seasons is so far beyond what came before and what the league looks like now.

yea but both teams were fiercely competitive at the same time and the cores of those teams aged similarly. i don’t think either side has fully evolved yet and city in particular now face tighter spending rules than when they built their side. i’d also say it’s now a tougher league overall.

basically klopps liverpool and guardiolas city peaked together and have fallen away together.

Xabi Alonso reps meeting
▪️ Request for elite targets
▪️Senior players concerns
▪️ Slot decision imminent
▪️ Gerrard ready to step in short-term

Liverpool met Xabi Alonso's representatives on Friday in a secret location in Spain 🇪🇸.

They discussed finer details of Alonso's tactics and summer transfer targets, with requests for Micky van de Ven, Adam Wharton, Bradley Barcola and Michael Olise.

Liverpool's football operations team has decided Arne Slot will not be the manager next season, with certain senior players expressing concerns to senior officials.

Steven Gerrard is ready to take the job on a short-term contract if asked, and meetings have already taken place.

whilst we’re in sack mode, which of the coaching team are Slot’s men and which were independently hired by Hughes?

Who does Xabi have in his inner circle?

I’m just concerned we fall down the mistake Villa made when hiring Gerrard. They got him but not the guy that did all the work
