Regardless of any transfer business, Man City will win the League next season. This might be a depressing thread but, predictions for next season:

League - Man City

FA Cup - Man City

League Cup - Man City

Champions League - Man City

Whatever the UEFA Cup is called - Us

Yeah I agree.
I think we might scrape 4th.

With this team we're not winning anything.
Out midfield right now has a gigantic hole in it and the only player in our squad who's good enough to play in that position is an 18 year old kid.

Isn't 5th enough to qualify us for CL, with our co-efficients next season?

If we sign only Lavia, that's probably the height of our aims.

If we sign Lavia + another experienced DM, then we should be top 3, injury-permitting.

And looking to win the cup competitions.

My Sky Sports runs out in October.,There's no chance it's getting renewed. To watch 10 years of Man City creaming it? No thanks.

I’m not sure the additional DM will be the difference between Top 3 & Top 5 - although it might.

I think the bigger issues will be how we utilise Trent and cover the space he leaves when he advances, how we get the best return from Salah, getting our forward press working again, how the 2 new attacking midfielders settle in and ultimately what our shape and familiarity with it will be next season.

The forward press is key for me - if we’re going to be successful, we need to be able to snuff out opposition attacking intent early and more frequently.

If it falls on the DM - more often than not it’s already too late.

Anyone any tips on getting tickets for the Dublin final? I'd like to be there regardless, but I think we are in with a great shout.

You forgot something

Top scorer - Haaland

Couple of other things too;

Community Shield - City
UEFA Super Cup - City
MOTY - Pep
POTY - KDB
YPOTY - Foden

If it's to be another depressing season, go gung ho.

Any year I’ve registered for them on the official uefa site I’ve gotten them. Definitely try there

Heathen

Yes
League - Us
FA Cup - Us
League cup - Us
Wafer cup - Us

European Cup - void
Yes the wafer cup is ours then klopp has won everything and I'd say we have a chance of getting the league and big virg will get to lift it as captain.

Imagine Liverpool got to a final in Dub. You need half a dozen Crokers. No chance of tickets at the new place.

It's all ifs, buts and bollocks innit, but with city letting so many players go this summer you think they'll weaken while it gels. If only we'd have strengthened a couple of seasons ago. But we didn't. Bollocks.

City - a LOT depends on whether Silva, Laporte and Walker join the exodus as they've lost Mahrez (a very effective & valuable player for them), Gundogan (one of their best players IMO) and Cancelo. That's an LFC level churn. I'm not sure they'll adjust so easily and the league could be much tighter as a result. And who they buy to fill the void and whether they can slot in (Kovacic wasn't earth shattering last season so no wonder Chelsea weren't that concerned selling him). Look at their squad as it stands, it doesn't look at all awe inspiring.

Haaland was hardly injured last season - not like him so hopefully this season. KdB (32) would be classified as a fossil by this forum if he played for us, I'm praying for a Hendo like decline there.

---------

As for Top 6 :

Arsenal have strengthened but not enough to win it (and they over-performed with that squad last season).
Chelsea to date have done nothing but weaken their bloated squad though they underperformed last season and will improve under Poch.
United have done SFA so far. Onana weaker than De Gea and Mount isn't a transformative player. Whilst they've actually weakened their squad overall.
Newcastle have done decent business so far.
Spurs too and should be back in the Top 6

It's not worth summarising our churn here but IMO we are much stronger (esp. if/when we sign Lavia and dependant on keeping Thiago) regardless of whether we buy a backup CB or not. I feel many are making excuses (e.g. lack of experience or leadership) to under-value our transfers in, whilst over-valuing those departed (most of whom hardly contributed anything last season).
Ignoring depth we have experienced and powerful players in both defence and attack (where we are esp. loaded to cover Mo's absence in the Afcon).

As it stands :
City (only due to Haaland and Pep), Arsenal and ourselves for the top 3 but too early to assign positions.

Newcastle, Chelsea, Spurs and United for 4th - 7th (Brighton, Villa etc. would have to have an amazing season to gate-crash).

Still a month to go though so a lot could happen.

I imagine a lot of Liverpool supporters are going to buy tickets at the first opportunity. I want to be one of them but it's gonna be a pain in the hoop I imagine.

As I have been for all my life regarding us except 2 seasons.....

LEAGUE - LFC
FA Cup - LFC
League Cup - LFC
Uefa whatever - LFC

I think it will be another season of unrivalled determination by pur players just like after the pandemic season. Remember we came 5th last season by having either under developed kids in midfield or having veteran cones. We finished the season in league winning for, and now we got midfielders who can run and high ceilings.

I've booked a hotel. I figure that as long as it's not another English club I'd go anyway.

City need a bit of replacing.

The big one is ofc KDB, without him and Gundogan they looks void of ideas.
Kovacic is good, but not as creative as Gundo.

Walker will be replaced by Lewis/Akanji.
Laporte by Gvardiol.
Not sure what will happen with the Mahrez slot, perhaps Foden becomes a regular, but I think they will get a left footed mid in, perhaps Olise.

So, where they are a bit short is the successor to KDB, who they ideally should have ready and start to rotate into their team. I was surprised they weren't in for Jude.

I know for many it might seemed far fetched, but I think City need a rebuild of their midfield, those players will be fucked mentally and physically after the efforts of last season. I dont think KDB and the other older ones like Silva will be the same. Motivation will be difficult even for someone like Pep, and honestly there seems to be a big issue identifying the 6's and 8's that will take the team to another level again.

I enter the UEFA ballot every year, the only time I got tickets was for the UEFA Cup final last time it was in Dublin, that led me to believe the ballot potentially favours folks from the country the final is in - so find an Irish address and enter the ballot. Before you ask, my address is spoken for 🙂

As it turned out the final ended up being between two Portuguese clubs, all my mates from Liverpool, who had promised to come over for a laugh regardless who got into the final, pulled out and I couldn't give the fucking tickets away

Yeah, all this too.

Although I don't see why TAA couldn't go back to his old role of being a traditional FB.

It felt like this new inverted role was as much to help Fab, as it was to hide TAA from defending.
