Okay, this is some shameless plugging for a friend at the Echo, but he makes some good points. We are a soft touch. Without a doubt. We're a squad of largely diminutive fair weather players who can be electric when on song, but roll over and lie on their back at the first sign of adversity. How do we rate our chances at signing some of these players? And is there anyone else that fits the bill? Not once since the loss of Suarez, Gerrard, Alonso, Carragher, Mascherano et al. have I felt that we have replaced their (here's that phrase again...) grit and determination.
To put it more succinctly, we're a bunch of fannies. What, and who, do we need to be more competitive?
