Shane Long

I wouldn't mind us signing Shane Long as a replacement for N'Gog i.e. 3rd/4th choice striker but IMO he'd be better off at Celtic or Everton as he would be a gauranteed starter for both.

I've never seen anyone as unlucky as Shane Long in the previous couple of seasons. Even until November of this season he just always seemed destined to hit the post or bar or the keeper would pull off a world class save. I was impressed everytime I saw him play but he rarely scored despite always being in the right place.

For some reason from November everything just clicked for him and it's not a case of him getting lucky it's just his run of bad luck finally ended. I think he's easily good enough for the top flight but obviously he won't get in our team ahead of Carroll/Suarez/Kuyt.

Are transfer fee's now dictated by Youtube video's?
Worth about 6 mil I reckon.
His goals almost single handedly got Reading promoted this season.

I doubt anyone's going to pay £6m for a relatively unproven player with only a year left on his contract though. I reckon he'll leave for £4m.
