I don't really subscribe to this "sell him if he wants out" at all costs mentality.
If there is no-one is prepared to put in a big bid then there is no point selling. 15M is nothing. It'll cost us around that much to replace him unless we play a blinder in the market, which given our recent record I don't think anyone would stake their money on. We'd be better off forcing him to stay for another year and then perhaps selling him if he won't sign a new deal. He'll still be worth 8-10M with a year left on his contract... that is, if he is clever enough to keep up his good form and attract the sort of offers he's after.

Based purely on their health record, I'd keep Skrtel. I prefer Agger, but we need to ensure our best players are on the pitch.

Skrtel's comments don't fill me with hope. He is looking to leave but isn't coming straight out and telling it like it is.

It'll also take a monumental (or just plain mental) offer though. This looks like it could be Rodgers' first big test. He's not going to let the club get barebacked by any player, still less his representatives who are probably the ones driving this.
Yet I truly believe he will keep Carroll & is trying to motivate him by making him prove himself to him, & that he's resigned to Skrtel going & is posturing to get the best price.
Maybe I'm mad, but I believe Rodger's is astute & his actions in regards to Carroll belie that if he truly wants rid at the best price.

Be gutted if Skrtel leaves, he's probably my favourite Liverpool player along with Suarez.
