Where does that leave Szoboszlai? He’s right in the prime of his career, captain of his country and another expensive signing we have on the books. We all may say he will be getting plenty of games, but would he really be happy with 18 starts and 20 sub appearances?

We will be down two strikers, and maybe three if you include Diaz, and only signing one, so I still think there is a chance Wirtz could drop in a false nine with Szobo also breaking forward. Slot has really praised PSGs fluidity so maybe it's something he wants to replicate more than we are currently, but who knows really.

Szobo may be able to save his legs and he can focus on getting his passing, shooting and creativity back to what it was when he first joined. Agree that Jones is going to have to step up to try any game time. Elliott is doomed.

Totally fine with it. Last season the lads looked fucked - especially Gravenberch and Mac - and Slot didn't really have people he trusted to bring in. Think that's why our form dipped towards the end. Having cover for injuries / rotation / impact subs sounds like a winner. Except if you're Curtis, Harvey or Endo.

Probably for the other thread, but I can see us getting Etikite and a stop gap striker as well as a winger to replace Jota, Nunez and Diaz. If it’s Rodrygo then that’s the forward line fluidity sorted.

Slobs will be second fiddle to Mac and Flo. He took a while to find rhythm last season and won’t be afforded that luxury next season.

Endo will support Gravs.

I think slot wants a creative 10, and that's not szob. His work rate is exceptional....but so is wirtz and Ekitikes

Imagine bringing on a fucking energy monster like szob in the 70th. There will be tears in the opposition ranks

Jones will get minutes depending what we need in a game. Jones is better at ball retention and controlling the play, so if we're winning he might come on for Macca. Szob primarily the wirtz backup

Szobo is boss and can play in multiple positions. Won’t be much benching in his case during the season I reckon given the amount of games we’ll play.
Loads of rotation with good players is great for us.

He'll definitely get a huge amounts of minutes, so he'll still be happy with his playing time

Given that none of our other midfielders offer running power and pace like Slobbo there will be many games where he will be involved, and the MacGrav combo cannot be used in every game othwewise we risk injury. The best quality Slot showed last season was managing the minutes of our Left Wingers, and Midfielders.
