So Bournemouth (A)

Think that's a bit OTT. He played pretty well - at least till Derby's red card - but never really got completely free of him.

He certainly needs to get his head up a bit more - got trapped a little too often but, on the plus side, his close control looked pretty good. Coming on at about 60 minutes didn't hurt him either.

Not enough pace between them IMO.

I know it's not impossible to have a good combination without pace but it certainly helps. I think that's why Skrtel is hard to drop at the moment. Toure isn't quick but Sakho makes him look nimble.

Henderson and Moreno as the wing backs again. Three at the back: Touré, Skrtel, Lovren. It's from the same source as last time.

Sterling up front again. Gerrard and Lucas together in the centre. Lallana is also included in the squad.

Let me play Gerrard 3 times in a week again?

I don't mind Sterling upfront as I think it will pay dividend if stuck with. If he scores one striker's goal, it may flow for him.

Ibe playing like a boss for Derby tonight.
He's tearing Azpilicueta a new one.

Nah. I just watched his match compilation against Chelsea, nothing special at all, just tidy. Didn't once run past his man and get a cross or dangerous pass in .. though to be to be fair it looked like they were aware of his speed and always double-decked him so very difficult to kick and run.

As Buddha said :

The guy who leaked the Liverpool line-up at the weekend says it's 3 at the back again. Sakho still doesn't get a start, neither does Can or Markovic, and Sterling still doesn't get a rest.

BR has lost it.

What are the odds does anyone know? Would be interesting to see who the bookies have as favourites? and if I could make a few bob betting on Bournemouth!!

What are the odds this actually is "the team" being leaked?

A partial team leakage 24 hours in advance, bit of an odd gambit.

May be it's my instinctive cynicism but I suspect a guess.

@Liddellpool: Jones, Touré,Skrtel,Lovren ,Henderson Lucas Gerrard, Moreno, Markovic, Sterling, Lallana *Tony Barrett*

It's feeling like we're trying to find a system which will compensate for our players flaws rather than coach it out of them.

If that is the team and formation then you have to wonder if Rodgers has lost it.

I actually think it's more pragmatic than that. We need Toure in the side at the moment as he's the only defender capable of any sort of organisation. Moreno is a decent attacking outlet but defensively he's all over the place at the moment. I can see the logic in three at the back as a short term measure. It doesn't change the fact that we need to be able to coach our defenders to play in a coherant system, but I don't have a problem with three at the back as a pragmatic measure.

352ish again with Gerrard in the Starting 11 and henderson at wing back

I smell defeat

Of course you do you cheery soul.

The problem is that all of our central midfielders are playing rubbish at the moment so bar possibly Lucas (who at least offers some protection to the back four, more than the others) it's a choice of either Gerrard or Allen if we're playing a two in central midfield.

Er...Can?

Can hasn't been involved at all since he was subbed against Chelsea, a match were he was one of the best performers. I find it insane tbh. He's been on the bench every time. Fucking hell.

There needs to be more justification for changing the system than signing a defender for 12M who cannot defend.

Got slightly carried away but Derby improved tenfold when he came on.
He was the only Derby player to actually take the game to Chelsea.
I thought he looked highly promising.
The kind of fearless running that our current team needs.
