I think that Rodgers is essentially deciding to manage games because our defense is so poor, hope that we don't get scored on till late and then risk attacking subs. It's not going to work consistently, but playing safe on the weak hand of our defense is as pointless as playing aggressively with our weak attack. Since neither is likely to produce consistent wins, it's strange to see someone who was so risky in approach last year make that choice.
Rodgers reputation falls at the expense of Suarez with every passing game. Newcastle are so tragic that we should be able to do something, but we look so completely shot of all confidence.
