You want to get back to having a strong centre (although it's unlikely to be as strong as it was then given that we had three world class players in the middle) all the whilst ignoring that our attack is so much less productive than it was then when the worst of our problems was Riera.
It's not about buying one super talent like Messi. It's about making sure that the attacking unit as a whole can score goals and win us games. Providing our current attacking unit a solid base from which to play is great and all but if that attacking unit is fundamentally broken, how much use are you going to get out of that solid base?
It's like buying a chef that can't cook a £100,000 kitchen and expecting gourmet food. It's not going to happen. You're still going to get the same old shit food.
