So we're on the hunt for a new manager

If Rafa is called in for an interview by the owners he'd do well, I think.
He's got an impressive CV and the work he did at the club disregarding the first team has been tremendous.
People tend to forget that he's the one who signed Shelvey, Sterling, Suso, Adorjan etc our brightest talents and he's the one who gave a 16 year old Robinson his first appearance (he got 5 minutes, I know).

Well the 3.30 announcement hasn't come lets see if the 4 announcement comes. Ive asked again and same answer gone. I wish the club would put tgis to bed either way.

The whole project had collapsed when Rafa was fired, and I doubt he'd have turned it round, but if he was given the right backing now I'd expect us to be back in Europe's top clubs before long.

that was the club's problem. i truly believe the real problem was that the club couldn't keep up with where he was taking us. that was my feeling at the time and as it fell to pieces.

Yeah i feel similarly about Leeds and David O'Leary.

that's my point. we did not have the funds to keep the momentum going just when we reached the top, the bottom fell out. the summer after the title challenge was the time to cement ourselves in that position but the money was not there to do it.

Ben Smith ‏ @BenSmithBBC
@mckred Dalglish has not stepped down. Ball in FSG's court now.

The money was there to do it, but for the last four years we've got most of our contract and transfer decisions wrong.

So I don't want to see one of the worst offenders come back, he was the boat that floated on the rising tide. He wont make a blind bit of difference this time.

tht's a load of shite imo. you are only talking about alonso for a start.
Not really. Mascherano and Agger were already making advances to other teams, Skrtel couldnt get a game, Torres wanted out, Reina has courted United, Alonso and Arbeloa fucked off....
He was a fucking nightmare and you know it. But yeah, lets get him back, as Ross said the other day every place is worth millions, so that 7th place could mean the world to Henry.

I was thinking about who might step in if KK left and went on the BBC news website. My eyes were bleary and Francois Hollande looked like Rafa greeting adoring kopites. I don't question the gift, I merely channel it.

We should give Rafa a 2nd chance to put it right. He deserves it.
How long does Rafa get then? Same as Kenny? 17months?
No problem at all, I cant see how a policy of 'giving failures a second chance' can fail following on from our chance given to a club legend.
Yeah this would be a great idea.
Rafa forever!

Only a could of weeks ago Bascombe was adamant that FSG wouldn't bring Rafa back after paying him off to the tune of £6m. Admittedly, the only reasoning he gave (at that time, he may have provided others since) was that FSG would look stupid to fork out such money then change their mind.

I don't know enough about Bascombe to know his form for this kind of LFC 'knowledge'.
