Sturridge and Moreno

That's close to £10M a year off the wage bill with barely any impact on the squad.

It's sad what's become of Sturridge, but I won't give either much of a second thought now. I'm just excited with what Klopp will do with some more cash.

Yes, Sturridge has scored some great goals and if he had kept fit, he could have scored a lot more. Good luck to him. Cheerio to Moreno. I'll not miss worrying that Klopp might be tempted to give him a game sometime.

Sturridge was a waste of talent the past 2 years - whether it was his confidence to sprint or something else he just lost his edge. A good player for us but one we needed to move on for the sake of the squad.

One of those players who had you wondering whether footy was his passion. His pace and stamina dropped off a cliff after one injury too many.

I think the body just refused to exert itself anymore. Instinct just reigns it in. Injuries and age do that to you.

Very sad. I was hoping that we'd win the league, so he could leave knowing that his wonder goal against Chelsea made a real difference. Was my favourite Liverpool players for a while. Never complained at being in Suarez's shadow even though he contributed almost as much.

Shame the way it ended for studge, injuries taking its toll. Done well for us and nice way to sign off the season with big ears and that Chelsea goal. Think he will head to the states.

The less said about Alberto the better. He will head back to Spain

On the positive side, we might not have won CL if it wasn't for his important contributions during the group stages so nice for him to properly feel part of that campaign. Will be interesting to see where he goes next. I'd bet on it being a London club.

Going to miss studge. What a player he was. Im so glad Moreno has finally gone. All the attributes but dreadful decision making.

One of the best strikers I've seen play for Liverpool during his first years.
Moreno was a very good pro as well
Wish them both all the best. Hope they kickstart their careers now elsewhere.

Sturridge should go to America. I kinda think he's done in England unless he wants to play in the lower divisions.
Like others have said, injuries have taken their toll on him. He lost his greatest skill which was his acceleration.

YNWA, lads. Thanks for the contributions down the years.

I wasn't a fan of Moreno's, but by all accounts he was great for the rest of the lads behind the scenes, and he will always be a part of the group that won the Champions League.

All the best for the future.

(Not that they'll ever read this, like)

Moreno annoyed me no end, he had the tools but not the brain. Good luck to him though, clearly everyone liked him.

What can you say about Sturridge, fantastic player, good guy, just a massive shame it went the way it did. I hope he gets some enjoyment out of whatever he does next.

Sturridge was one of the most naturally gifted strikers I've ever seen play for us. Ball control, touch, finishing - everything seemed natural and god-gifted. That 13/14 season, he was genuinely Suarez's equal, which is saying a lot given that Suarez has been the 3rd best player on the planet over the last few years. Shame the injuries absolutely wrecked him though.

Re: Moreno, I thought he showed a lot of promise early on, but clearly he doesn't have a brain. He'll probably have an okayish career somewhere though. And by all accounts, he was a nice dude, so I wish him all the best.

Sturridge went to shit pretty much immediately after the club gave him that whopping contract after Suarez left as they were shitting themselves. Before then he was a fantastic player. Him and Carrol both on frees now, wonder if they'll end up playing together.

I'll miss Studge. Hope he goes somewhere he can get a regular run and bang in some goals.

Moreno can fuck right off, immediately. Embarrassed that worthless twat ever wore our beloved jersey.

Moreno was obviously a shit player for us, but it's still the case he was keeping Robbo out of the team until he got injured last season.

Seems almost incredible now.

Studge had the potential to be an all time great - injuries and/or self-confidence robbed him of that but he still had a decent career, scored some wonder goals and ended his career with a CL winner's medal ... props.
Moreno started off well, and then couldn't develop his game further for whatever reason. He was a tart on the pitch and was probably the reason we lost to Sevilla ... however, he seemed to be a popular, hard working member of this team - so wish him much luck wherever he ends up and thank you.

MLS is becoming very physical. Quality is still poor but games are very physical. Also long trips for away games (3000 miles of travel), artificial turf on certain stadiums. It is a league which takes its toll on the body. I will be very surprised if Sturridge makes it here.

Yeah you've got a point, but Zlatan seems to be doing fine so..

Studge would fit in well at Villa and Moreno will have a fair few options in Spain/Portugal I’m sure
