Kenny Dalglish has no plans to scrap any of his big-money signings this summer, despite a hugely disappointing league campaign.

Kenny Dalglish will give his expensive signings time to prove their worth
• Comolli: Carroll will get better
• Johnson: What's at stake on Sunday

Dalglish spent upwards of £50 million ahead of the 2011-12 season bringing the likes of Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson to the Anfield fold. All three of those names are yet to make a significant impact for the Reds, earning more criticism than praise for their performances across the year.

The Liverpool boss confessed on Friday that his team's current league position simply is not good enough, insisting the club will never be achieving their aim until nobody is above them in the Premier League table.

In order for the Reds to become serious title challengers once more it would seem Dalglish will need to spend more significant sums this summer. The likes of Downing, Adam or even Andy Carroll could arguably be used to raise such funds, but Dalglish does not intend to sell anybody.

"We're not looking to move anybody out," the Liverpool manager commented. "The only one that will be moving out will be Fabio [Aurelio], because his contract's up, but we'll not be looking to move anybody out so all we want to do is to add to the squad that we've got and see what happens from there.

"The transfer market brings up surprises. What the surprises are going to be, I'm no clairvoyant, I can't help you but I'm just saying that we're not actively looking to move anybody on."

Liverpool travel to Swansea on the final day of the season, knowing they can finish seventh, eighth or ninth in the table depending on results elsewhere. The club have not finished outside the top eight since the 1962-63 season, their first season after promotion to top flight.

Dalglish is focused on strengthening his squad rather than anything else.

"Most of our plans are in place. We need to get the work done and get on with it,'' added the Scot. "Conversations happen throughout the whole season, they just tend to pick up in the last week of the season and there have been lots of conversations in the last few days.

"There have been a lot of discussions between various parties which have to be made and we will carry on do our work during the summer. We have been talking to the owners throughout the calendar year and have discussed many facets of the job and what it entails.

"You also discuss what availability and what possibilities there are and we've been through every option with everyone. It is an ongoing process and not much has changed. Maybe because the transfer window opens there will be some business done - but that is the same for everyone.

"At the end of the season every club and supporter looks anxiously to see what is happening in terms of business being done. But the business-side of it won't be discussed publicly.''

Its just preseason talk. It'll be a hectic summer

I think so too. It's LFC afterall.

I expect the following players to leave(not what i'd choose personally):

Aurelio(out of contract anyway)
Maxi
Kuyt
J.Cole
Aquilani

Coming in, who knows.
Well before the end of last season, the press were linking us with Adam, Enrique etc and it was widely reported Kenny would be given big money to spend. In the run up to this summer though, we're getting conflicting reports about how much Kenny has to spend so it's much harder to predict.

Saying that you're activly trying to sell someone usually means a lower transfer fee, but I have no doubts about a few leaving.

Will Robinson be kept in the squad as a permanent backup player for Johnson, seeing Aurelio is leaving? Given his age, wouldn't it be better for him to get a loan move and more game time instead? Will we move Robinson out temporarily and turn to Glenn Johnson as backup instead?

The new signings shouldn't be moved on. We need to add 3 quality new players, not get rid of players we need in the squad.

Attacking wide players for both right and left and another forward who offers something different to Carroll & Suarez.

Acqua, Cole & Kuyt leaving will be enough.

Keeper : Riena / Doni
RB : Johnson / Kelly
LB : Enrique / Robinson
CB1 : Agger / Coates
CB2 : Skrtl / Carragher
CM1 : Lucas / Henderson
CM2 : Gerrard / Shevley
RM : ? / Downing
LM : ? / Sterling
FW : Suarez / Bellamy
ST : Carroll / ?

Chuck Adam into the equation as extra cover for midfield and if we fill the 3 "?" spots with quality then there's no reason why we can't give the top 4 a crack.

I like the cut of your jib my man.
Id personally prefer one winger and a dominant DM/CM rather than two wingers.
Lucas and a Mvilla/Martinez kinda partner is such a strong foundation that it would be almost key for me.
All our other CM are flawed imo.

I think Lucas and Gerrard can handle the middle. We have to either back Henderson & Shelvey or replace them. I think we should hold off that CM for another season - because we're looking at Gerrards replacement and we want to be in a position to offer CL football, and an upward trajectory as well as being able to blow the entire budget on one player.

I don't use the word winger, because I think it's too one dimensional - wide players to me are players that can use width, but also get inside when needed - intelligence is the key - we should be looking for a young Maxi - someone to compare to a Mata or a Silva.

Someone a little bit more like a traditional winger - who can wip crosses in for Carroll would be a great balancing proposition.

Most if all someone to play upfront in a different plan to the the Carroll battering ram - fast, technical, great movement, finisher - basically what Torres was.

There'll be plenty of games to keep them all happy - but we need to go a blow it on 3 players that'll be worth 50m (and I mean worth - not cost).

Sort that and then it's about whether Kenny can get the desired results from the squad.

Stevie G needs to be played at RM next year with Downing fucked off and a clever skilzfull player brought in for the left side of an AM 3.

---------------------------Carroll----------------------

Silky supa skillz--------Suarez------------------SG

I think any reliance on Stevie and a player coming back from a career threatening injury is a false one Steve.
And if we go into next season reliant on Spearing, Shelvey, Henderson and Adam we are fucked.
There are massive question marks about both our top class CM and we shouldnt be leaving it to chance.
We NEED a world class CM.
Id rather have to juggle too many than regret having not enough.

Ps-If we sign a CM id be happy with Lucas, Gerrard, Adam, NEW MAN.
Henderson, Shelvey and Spearing should be loaned to premier league clubs.

I don't think we'll get the best out of Carroll playing an attacking midfield 3 behind him - that system works better with someone more mobile.

Carroll needs a more traditional 442 with crosses getting pinged in and another striker playing off him rather than a more withdrawn deeper "in the hole" position.

Agree on that. Do think we should use Gerrard at right mid next season though. Unfortunately the days of relying on Gerrard to play on a regular basis are over.

we need two 20 million pound players before i'm even interested. i mean proper ones. not the usual fucking dickheads we spend 20 mill on.
