Who am I missing?

I try to only add players who seem to be on our "list" rather than random and spurious links or players in positions where we're well-covered.

The young keeper we signed, linked to Gyokeres, there’s the Barcola rumour but that might be more wishful thinking and Doak linked with Everton, but that’s about I think.

Love to include Alvarez, but not sure it was anything more than an acknowledgement we like him.

Mate… it’s not your wank bank were after - it’s actual links from… like… sources with some sort of credibility.

I’m sure at least two of those are made up names!!!

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;

QUAD SQUAD

This one should be put up in a frame somewhere

Thanks mate, you reminded I left out Barcola.
We all know most are bull shit even the reliable ones. Hughes surprised us with Wirtz so I am covering corners even if its from spurious sources. I could have included that AM in Spain thats scored 15 goals, I didn't because I forgot to add him to the list
The wonderful thing is we are doing something, and right now on paper us and man city are head and shoulders above Assanal.
Concerns are, we have too many players (allegedly) wanting to leave.

After Kerkez, there needs to be significant push to retain Konate, and then see who wants to stay or wants to leave

If Robbo and Quansah leave, someone like Hato can act as cover for both areas.
Kev has left

Several things -

What we know about Slot is he likes a smaller tight squad (even dog Mekon Pep recognises the importance of this). This is what wins leagues - not rotating 30+ players all season.

What it doesn’t do is make it easy to challenge on multiple fronts - but I’m sure there’s a sweet spot for balancing consistency and rotation - Sloooks like he’s recognised that - but winning the league in year one with no major additions to the squad gives him so much credit in the bank it’s unreal.

We also know that it won’t just rotate for the sake of it and just point blank won’t do it if he doesn’t absolutely trust the player - we’ve done this to death - Endo, Harvey, Chiesa, Quansah, screaming out for a couple more games and get nothing.

What we also know is Slot will absolutely use cup games and “dead rubbers” to kids, reserves… basically anyone other than the core first team players, until we get to the spicy end of the business.

Therefore it’s really good if we do run deep into cup comps - because it won’t affect first team regulars until late on, but give good competitive game time to fringe players.

The dowsnide (no… not overworking the coaches and kit man like “someone” suggested), is he’ll play teams that aren’t used to playing together, so things don’t go smoothly.

Where we’re likely getting close to, after Kerkez, is we’re done in the market unless some unmissable offer rears its head or someone offers a fortune for someone we need to replace - Diaz, Konate, Quansah etc.

The only one that’s really debatable - that we couldn’t sort out “in house” is the number 9 - which is pretty much tied to what Slot’s actual plan with Wirtz is.

That and what sort of prices Ekitike, Sesko, Gyokeres and/or Osimhen are going for - there’s every possibility we’ll go “yeahhh…. Naaaaaaa” and walk away.

At the very least, I think we’ll sit and wait after bailing the 3 we really wanted.

The Ekitike link feels like the strongest - he’s the one most of the better sources keep mentioning - I can only presume with the money spent on Wirtz we’re not going to chuck cash about on this one.

I think if Ekitike price drops down to the £50-£60k range we’ll be into it.

Osimhen is interesting excuses the sale price and quality seems to be there, but the wage demands and the fact he’s coming across as a bit of a dick means I’d be surprised if we go anywhere near him.

I still think we might have our eye on Alvarez for next season.

Like I said, things can happy that require a change in plans, but we’ve completed 2 with 1 signing close - I’d be surprised if we make more than 1 more major signing.

I think we are saying similar things. After getting the inbounds, its about securing Konate to a long term deal or selling him. This is the same with Diaz.
I think there is a high chance Quansah leaves so whether you like it or not we have to enter the market for a CB at least.
If we see the departures of the following Cheesy, Doak, Nunez and Diaz what would be your solution? In the case of Doak, its mentioned he could be a makeweight for Branthwaite. However, for Cheesy, Nunez and Diaz, do you replace with 1 or 2 players?
I think we are looking at 2 possibly even 3 more. Time will tell who is right.
If Diaz and Quansah stay great, we can reassess in Jan.

If Slot thinks he can go into this window with just the 3 new signings, thats fine by me and if its a total of 6 then its fine by me too

No-one seems to be mentioning Joe Gomez in all this. Where does he fit (or not fit)? He's not on anyone's list (above) of either coming or going.

Not going anywhere. We can't sell another yet another CB (if Quansah goes) and have to buy 2 in. I want us to have 5 CBs but we can't start the season with two ! Plus he is Mr. Versatile.

Thats my post, I think it was a 3/10 window last summer. All I wanted is the contracts sorted. It took a year and he got 2 out of 3 sorted. This season when news came in we had sorted 3 signings before the window opened I changed my mind about him and apologised

Not sure any links to Gyokeres are serious; he doesn’t seem to be high on our list (probably because of age and his wages).

Barcola was a spurious or agent-driven rumour, surely. Added Doak and Pesci.
