True, Rush - not that it would pop into my mind, so I am not ashamed I at least do know it.

With all due respect, mate, when discussing the number 9, Rushie should be the very first name that springs to mind...

Not for me. Number 9 is Gareth Edwards, widely regarded as one of, if not the best, Rugby player in the history of the game.

Joe DiMaggio (the man)

Johnny Bench
George Brett

best to wear number 5 - got to be Zinedine Zidane or Reggie Bush (arguably best college rb of all time)
That's all very well but it's about time Reggie got his mojo workin' for my N.Orleans Saints.

He had a good year, if it wasn't for the injuries you guys would haev made the playoffs - I thought he'd be a bust, i think he is going to officially prove me wrong next year.

And @Whaddapie I didn't follow football then and the first number 9 in my head is Ronaldo. And Torres is permanently in my head right now. sorry to disgrace but age (and country lived in) can bring clear differences.

I think of Ronaldo with number 9 too.
Whenever I see Wagner friggin Love in that shirt I feel like spitting.

Fair enough, mate.

I had us as roughly the same age, for some reason. Sadly (for me), it's not even close.
