The Firmino Holgate incident.

The fuck happened? Looking past the fact Holgate clearly should have been sent off for very dangerous play, it looks like Holgate and Everton are going to accuse Firmino of saying something, probably racist, based purely on what Fat Sam said at the end of the game.

Now, I'm almost certain i'll get mocked for this, but Firmino and Holgate are pretty much the same colour, outside of calling him an English cunt, what exactly could he say thats racist?
 
Not worth a thread. Holgate should have had at least a Yellow though. Can he get one retrospectively ? He should.

It's definitely worth a thread if they're going to try accuse him of being racist mate, I still can't quite figure out how the works in this situation though as they're both the same colour.

I saw the Hijo de puta bit... I’m just hoping the word negro never appeared... not because of the lengthy ban that Firmino would receive but primarily because having lived in the Hispanic world they do have a different attitude to language and the ensuing revival of debate on here would be tedious.
 
What fucking bollocks. You can clearly see Holgate panicking and talking about being spat at - he's wrong; either in the heat of the moment, or deliberately to distract attention away from his own stupidity.

The head launches forward with "puta" and if he gets a little bit of spittle, unlucky.

Nothing said so far by anyone suggests they are going to accuse him of being racist ! Simply Fat Sam and Klopp don't know what was said or went on so can't comment on it. If there was anything the ref. was bang in the middle and if there had been anything then Firmino would have been off.

I wouldn't be comfortable that this ref not taking action about something meant it couldn't have happened
 
The ref was terrible, but it was clear he had an ear for the English lad, and was buying that something controversial might have happened. Lets see if the cunts try and make an allegation. I seriously doubt it. The whole charade was to deflect from the fucking blatant dangerous play by Holgate.
 
If he admits saying hijo de puta that's an offence and ban. If he keeps his mouth shut the FA will probably infer negro from his facial expression / teeth and it's a season ban. Either way we're getting fucked.

Me either, and the non committal nature of both managers makes me a bit nervous, despite the fact that there's no evidence in the pictures so far that Firmino's done anything wrong.
 
Beating Everton in an FA Cup derby with VVD scoring the winner and this shit gets more discussion than the post match thread and game. Tells you where a lot of fans heads are at these days. Love the controversy. Embarrassing.
