This thread, although interesting, isn’t really good enough for the main blog. So I’ve put it in here instead, the trivial blog. DJ Sydney seems to be on a high because he’s got rid of another of his enemies. The sooner he’s got the site to himself the sooner he’ll be happy.

How long did he last there, a week or so?

According to what dunk says, it’s permanent – unless ryan can give dunk assurances of his behaviour. I cant see that being too forthcoming, unfortunately.
I sincerely hope it’s just a phase, because Ryan was never as bad as he’s been recently, even allowing for the controversial tone he can sometimes adopt.

That was the problem, it had nothing to do with disagreements or controversial views, it was about consistent and emphatic abuse, which is unacceptable and when it reaches a certain point, nobody is allowed to get away with it, no matter how ‘established’ they are. It wasnt about an arguement with anyone mate, it was about his tone, which he was warned about dozens of times.
Is it too much to ask for a bit of cooperation from a regular poster? We overlooked his behaviour enough because he was a regular, while taking stick of lesser known posters for adopting a different policy with them.

Absolutely agree, it’s a real shame because when he wasnt going on the rampage, he was a great contributor.

This forum can be lenient at times. I’d like to see 2-3 week bans in place (as warnings) and if they screw up after a certain amount of times, it should be permanent. A straight up ban is a little harsh, but letting things slide is almost as bad as condoning bad behaviour in my book.

The very fact that this thread has in a very short period of time had 50 responses speaks volumes of Ryans standing on this site.
I dont care wether all of you love him or hate him, the facts are he has sound football knowledge and when he debated in a rational and balanced manner he was up there in the best 5-10 posters on this site.
The trouble is that over time as his responses have got more barbed and acidic, more and more posters have seen fit to have a pop at him or about him. This in turn has made him EVEN MORE angry and acidic!!
Basically i find it funny that a lot of you have helped create this angry man persona, and laughed and jibed with him when it suited you, and yet been incredibly offended and high horse riding when his rants dont suit your particular leanings!
If a lot of you could take the advice (that is constantly being given) from the likes of Mark, dunk and syd and just ignore posters you dont agree with, we probably would still have the “good” poster Ryan with us!!
Its all a bit Frankensteins monster to me, and regardless of your views our great sight is the lesser because he is not on it! the S** is not yellow! its chicken!

The fact that he’s ranting about Gonzalez on ANOTHER forum kinda makes a mockery of his innocent pleading that he was ‘just responding to the muppets on here who overhyped him’, he’s just too fcuking trigger happy with players but when pulled on it he tries to shift the goal posts by saying it’s ‘just in response’, like with Syd the other day.

I dont care wether all of you love him or hate him, the facts are he has sound football knowledge and when he debated in a rational and balanced manner he was up there in the best 5-10 posters on this site.
The trouble is that over time as his responses have got more barbed and acidic, more and more posters have seen fit to have a pop at him or about him. This in turn has made him EVEN MORE angry and acidic!!
Basically i find it funny that a lot of you have helped create this angry man persona, and laughed and jibed with him when it suited you, and yet been incredibly offended and high horse riding when his rants dont suit your particular leanings!
If a lot of you could take the advice (that is constantly being given) from the likes of Mark, dunk and syd and just ignore posters you dont agree with, we probably would still have the “good” poster Ryan with us!!
Its all a bit Frankensteins monster to me, and regardless of your views our great sight is the lesser because he is not on it!
To be fair, it had gone beyong just ignoring him, he became a major disruption. As for this topic, people like a bit of gossip and controversy, hence the level of replies. According to what dunk says, it’s permanent – unless ryan can give dunk assurances of his behaviour. I cant see that being too forthcoming, unfortunately.
I sincerely hope it’s just a phase, because Ryan was never as bad as he’s been recently, even allowing for the controversial tone he can sometimes adopt.

This forum can be lenient at times. I’d like to see 2-3 week bans in place (as warnings) and if they screw up after a certain amount of times, it should be permanent. A straight up ban is a little harsh, but letting things slide is almost as bad as condoning bad behaviour in my book.

The very fact that this thread has in a very short period of time had 50 responses speaks volumes of Ryans standing on this site.
I dont care wether all of you love him or hate him, the facts are he has sound football knowledge and when he debated in a rational and balanced manner he was up there in the best 5-10 posters on this site.
The trouble is that over time as his responses have got more barbed and acidic, more and more posters have seen fit to have a pop at him or about him. This in turn has made him EVEN MORE angry and acidic!!
Basically i find it funny that a lot of you have helped create this angry man persona, and laughed and jibed with him when it suited you, and yet been incredibly offended and high horse riding when his rants dont suit your particular leanings!
If a lot of you could take the advice (that is constantly being given) from the likes of Mark, dunk and syd and just ignore posters you dont agree with, we probably would still have the “good” poster Ryan with us!!
Its all a bit Frankensteins monster to me, and regardless of your views our great sight is the lesser because he is not on it! the S** is not yellow! its chicken!

Thats what i’m saying though DJ, he has become that way he wasnt always!
Damn shame on two counts
1.Posters felt the need to rev him up on an hourly basis with talk of cliques etc.
2.He bit on an hourly basis with sweary rants etc.
Dont get me wrong, i am not bothered one way or the other, i post to the post not the poster, and their are plenty of good contributors on this sight!

Fair enough, the thing is i’ve had a fair share of it from Ryan before but i never really saw it as anymore than banter, in a way it was almost good to have the character about.
