now we have Swansea in the premiership, Their in theory should be no argument against letting Celtic & Rangers in the premiership..

you realise they've been playing in the english football league for absolutely freaking ages? this changes nothing in terms of welsh teams competing in english football.

Re: Re: The most lucrative match in world football

Plus rangers and celtic would be really dull shit matches

I quite like Swansea. Here's a point though, who was the last team to stay up after a season that came up via the play offs?

Re: Re: The most lucrative match in world football

Looking at that it seems reading were dirty bastards!

Kebe looks a decent player for Reading although he could learn to release the ball a bit earlier.

Pesam.
Player report please?

I didn't really notice his star man Pratley today.
[/quote]

Pratley came on with about 25 minutes to go to for Dobbie, he is quite attack-minded but also a solid tackler so he was brought on to strengthen the midfield because Dobbie (who he replaced) is not as physical so Pratley was a better bet to help hang onto a lead.

As I mentioned before Pratley has been out of favour all season since he announced he wouldn't sign a new contract and was leaving on a freebie this summer. I agree with both decisions, Pratley was right to want to leave because he knows he's good enough for the EPL and Swansea were right to drop him because as the manager said he only want players are 100% committed to the cause. He will go to Bolton apparently.

Jimmy Kebe has had a superb season and he's Reading best players (with Long). He's definitely good enough for a stint in the EPL but doubt if he's good enough for a top half team.

Swansea City FC manager Brendan Rodgers has dedicated the team's promotion to the Premier League to a young player who died suddenly last year.

Striker Besian Idrizaj, 22, died in his sleep at home in Austria last May of a suspected heart attack.

Rodgers said: "Obviously, there has been a lof of emotion this season in relation to that."

Players wore a T-shirt with a photo of Idrizaj as they claimed the play-off trophy.

Idrizaj had been at the club for a year after previously being on Liverpool's books and also having loan spells at Luton Town and Crystal Palace.

Swansea have become the first Welsh club in the Premier League following their 4-2 victory over Reading at a packed Wembley stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.

In a post-match interview, Rodgers said he knew of the story of Idrizaj, who was a "big talent" at the club where he took over last summer.

He said: "So the journey was a great remembrance to him all the way through the season. I felt that he was really in the heart of the players and people."

Kebe was decent yesterday too although he gives the impression of being a bit brainless, a talented version of Bable if you wish. 😉

Congratulations to Swansea on being promoted to the Premier League - and giving Liverpool the chance to play in a different country next season

... Was the text message I received from about 100 different cunts in the last 24 hours.

That's not a bad description Count, he's a very exciting player but sometimes he tries to be exciting in his own half and loses possession in some dodgy positions. He'd probably do okay in the EPL for a bottom 6 team.

Kenny Dalglish has sent a ‘“well done” message to Premier League new boys Swansea.

The Liverpool manager offered his Swans counterpart Brendan Rodgers his congratulations by letter after last week’s 4-2 play-off final win against Reading.

Kop legend Dalglish was glowing in his praise of the Welsh club, who take on the best in England for the first time since 1983.

He said in his letter: “Just a few short lines to congratulate you and the club on your fantastic win at Wembley and your deserved promotion to the Premier League.

“You must be very proud of your boys for their hard work and determination throughout the season.

“We look forward to seeing you at the Liberty Stadium, or welcoming you to Anfield, whichever fixture comes first.

"Well done.”

It's mind games!

Spanish international midfielder Marcos Senna, 34, has confirmed he is in talks with Swansea over a move to the Premier League newcomers.

Senna is available after his contract with Villarreal expired. His agent Ely Coimbra said: "It is a very attractive option since Brendan Rodgers explained his ideas, and obviously because of the nice and vibrant city of Swansea."

Experience + quality. What a coup he might be for Swansea.
