I'm looking forward to the rowing. We are dead certs for Gold in two events:
  • Men's 4-
  • Women's pair
I think we have medal chances in a couple of others:
  • Women's lightweight double
  • Men's 8
  • Women's 8
  • Men's lightweight 4
Personally looking forward to seeing the Kiwi Pair again - they are unbeaten in any race in about 6 years and are both borderline superhuman on the rowing machine.

Not overly fussed about that many other events but will watch the usual sprint events (100, 200, 4 x 100 relay) and the cycling events.

I'll add Mens 8 to very good chance of gold - very strong race today, and looking better than zee germans.
Women's Lwt Double were way off the pace - doesn't look good for their chances of even getting in the final.
Women's 8 also looked good - i stand by that chance of a medal.

He is a phenomenal athlete, but the fact that he can race so many events contributes to the haul. Imagine a scene where schedules or distances allowed rowing to race in a pair, four, eight across 500m, 1000m and 2000m races - Redgrave & Pincent would have cleaned up.

Final of the men's quad today - will be an interesting one. Great story of the super sub who flew out about a week ago to take the place of a guy in the crew who was ill. This time last year he was in a crash during training that broke a number of his ribs and he was hospitalised for a number of months - his return to training was slow and he didn't quite have his speed back in early GB trials but has kept at it in case he was needed and is now the bow man of that boat. Really hoping they can pull through with a medal, they are the top of boat of the mens sculling squad.

This is a superb game of Tennis between Murray and Del Potro in the Final..

After 3 hours Murray 2-1 up Fourth set 2-1 to Potro no one held serve yet in this set and Murray is about to break back again.. Potro Finally starting to tire..

Second in the medal table! I always find it fascinating how for such a small country we are so incredibly adept at so many disciplines.

The cycling was shady as fuck the other night, wr and or being set everytime a gb cyclist raced hahaha
 
Tiem or whatever shes called? Yeah, it was a little unexpected. Plus it was banter when where they speaking about her arm injury moments before she smashed her pb!
 
How was it unexpected - she is the rising star of the sport, a former world junior champion and is 21 so open to improvement. If she sorts out her running she will dominate the sport for years to come. Unfortunately JEH wasn't at the top of her game and dissapointed in the shot and long jump.
 
Its unexpected tony because you shouldnt be doing 5 personal bests at one event, with a further event close to a personal best with a torn ligament.

You can throw cyclists and swimmers getting pbs and wrs all you want, but the fact of the matter is, thats one discipline.. Not seven.

I get she's a rising star, its just a bit suspicious to the untrained eye, is all.

Surely the whole point of peaking at a tournament is the fact you are aiming for pb's - she is very young and is more likely get pb's as she hasn't had as much senior competition. Far more difficult for a senior athelete with years of competing behind her.

If you are so disposed you could look at every gold medal winner and say doper, a bit like Rosco does ( apart from any Irish competitor ) I was disappointed JEH didn't win but she wasn't at her peak and as far as I can see beaten by an amazing new talent who clicked on the day.

Our doper was a traveller and he couldn't read the instructions on the packet. He wouldn't have been caught otherwise.
