It’s all going off at Napoli. Civil unrest right throughout the club.

He’ll never go to Everton. There’s more chance of my 2 year old being their manager.

Arsenal should be moving heaven and earth to get Ancelotti.

Yep, he will allow their best players to enjoy themselves while also implementing some kind of a defensive structure. Ultimately they will need a young-ish manager to forge the new post-Wenger Arsenal identity, but Ancelotti could be a perfect bridge to that.

UPD: Cue them ruling out Ancelotti from the beginning. Idiots...

I understand the clamour for the "profile" of Arteta or ideally someone like Nagelsmann – but you don't want to a rookie manager (or someone who's not managed in this country or at this level of expectations before) walking into a gigantic crisis from the first day. Yes, eventually the majority of that squad will need clearing out, but the rebuilding job will be made much easier if you first lay the groundwork with someone with enough experience to stabilize the situation, enough respect within the game to take the heat for difficult decisions when necessary and also ideally a positive personality that would lift the players rather than having their values and morale plummet by the day as is the case now.

If I were a Gooner I'd be hoping that was a smokescreen, because Ancelotti is 100% what they need. not just now but for the foreseeable future given the kind of remodelling that squad's going to require.

You're a big Ancelotti fan.

So, with hindsight, do you still think FSG should have hired him back in 2015? 😉

Haha. Touché. 😀

Rodgers' régime unravelled badly towards the end and I thought we needed a father-figure rather than a firebrand to sort things out. I was Mistaken with a capital "M" and I'm delighted to admit it given where we now stand. 😗

I never get the timings of most sackings. They tend to be after losses to top teams, rather than against the teams team are unexpected to lose to. It should be after a poor loss, or is there's a gap until the next match, or there's someone else sorted.
Maybe this is timed with the transfer window? But they'd need to have someone else planned and some targets identified too.

Losing to the 2nd-string Leicester team was completely unacceptable and a deserved last straw for Pellegrini. Really surprising how he let his team drift after such a promising start; I thought he was a better manager than that.

According to Talksh!te, Moyes has already had "conversations" already with the powers-that-be there about going back.

After last time, if they do want him back he'll surely be able to demand whatever he thinks they need this time around.
