Still think ppl sometimes have a go at Fox just because it's him but this original post wasn't quite subject to such. He dug himself a bit of a hole pretty fast though.

Unfortunately bandwagons are jumped on hugely here and folk suck up to the large number of posts members, opinions on folk get made by some shouters and the mud sticks no matter what subject you talk about, it doesn't matter. Luckily for me it doesn't bother me, this is an internet forum for fucks sake life is too good to worry, I was tempted to remind Rog Red of that, its nothing to get wound up about. Doesn't stop it being frustrating though, funny thing is since I decided not to continue having a ding dong with oncey and his gang on this thread the actual subject matter has been debated, it was interesting to read. I need an alias account I think to start threads that I actually want to have discussions on and just use FOX for the "bring on the abuse" threads

Firstly, you appear to have misconstrued what darkstar said. He was hardly coming out in your full support. Read the last sentence of his post. You are your own worst enemy so attempting to place the blame elsewhere is missing the point altogether.
Secondly, I didn't even read through the read before I posted a response so assuming that everybody waded in as part of 'Oncy's gang' is yet another failure to acknowledge the underlying truth of the matter. Generally, people have their own minds on here so attempting to explain away your own bigotry with the assertion that you're being 'ganged up on' or as part of some kind of mutual bandwagon jumping only compounds your ignorance further.
What you could and should have done is admit that your wording was unfortunate and not intended to cause offence. You could perhaps have admitted that you do hold some unsavoury views on the subject and that this thread might help you to address them. Instead, you decided to blame your ignorance and other peoples' objections to it on them. You started the thread and you chose the wording. Therefore, you have been held accountable for them. You can't go whinging when about it when people pull you up for blatant bigotry.
Yes, you have a reputation for being a little less than 'clued up'. And yes, there are times when you are perhaps targeted for your somewhat simplistic outlook on things. However, this was all your own doing, and attempting to deflect the blame elsewhere is not only cringeworthy, but it's incredibly ignorant. That said, it seems to work for you. Evidently, it seems that you;ve discovered the best way of dealing with your own ignorance - that is, with more astounding ignorance.
It's perfect from the point of view of self-preservation, now that I think about it. It's not you, it's just EVERYBODY else. It's almost admirable. But really not.
