The Suarez/Evra Racism Row

Firstly, I don't believe Suarez has said what he has been accused of here. Considering the ethic breakdown in the Uruguay side, it'd be very, very strange.

Evra has accused THREE opponents of racially abusing him and all three people have been cleared. Evra has never been punished for falsely accusing people. It's unlikely to happen but if/when this is all resolved and Suarez is cleared, Evra should receive whatever ban/fine Suarez would have been hit with at a minimum and what's more he should be treated with as much contempt and public anger as Suarez would have to face.

I doubt whether Evra will ever be punished for making false accusations, because just as it is difficult to prove that offensive language was used, it is equally difficult to prove that it wasn't used.

I can't get my head around Evra making this accusation to Canal+ and saying nothing to Sky or The BBC.

He hasn't done himself any favours with his reputation for selling wolf tickets, so either he's a cunt or Luis is.

The punishment for this should be set out now. Right now, today. If Suarez is guilty he gets it, if Evra has lied he gets the same.

I think you should start a new thread if you want to discuss punishment.

This thread is about the offence, any conversations about next steps would *obviously* go in a separate thread.

Yes whoever keeps starting duplicate threads is tiresome, it's not hard to check use some common sense.

As for the racist comments, I can't see them from the clip given, it may well be sour grapes but either way it's clear Man u want the fuss. Pity.

I hope it's not true but if they are Suarez must be punished it's that simple.

None of this is given a mention or is at least buried away in the Big football sites, 365 doesn't have it, BBC doesn't have it.

I think they all know its the Boy who cries again.

Anyway, he said in his rant that the Ref heared what Suarez said, and the ref would have Red Carded Suarez if he had heared it, so thats a lie.

He hasn't just tried to blacken (pun intended) Suarez's name here, he has also called the ref into disrepute too, so when its all dismissed (again) lets see what the FA do and then lets see what kind of punishment Fergy gives him.......

People keep saying that if suarez is guilty then he needs to be punished , and obviously i would expect some form of punishment but surely alongside that what would be even more important is an attempt to educate him and hope to change his views/behaviour . Ok i'm no expert on this at all but sometimes punishment just teaches a person to hide the thing that gets them in trouble . Surely the hope would be to positively influence them to see their mistake and let them choose to change for the better .

since i am black if i were manmarking a player and called him a pretty gay white boy would i be accused of racism or homophobia or both?. I actually dont mind being called black as it reflects the truth and i am proud of skin colour.I think this racism complaints are silly if someone calls me an ape i would reply back pinky pig and we end up equal game over.

First things first, if Suarez did say things then I'd expect punishment, but like Stu said earlier... If Evra has lied once more, he should receive a 3 game ban for bringing the game into disrepute and a hefty fine going towards the kick it out campaign.

Suarez denies Evra racism claim
October 16, 2011

Liverpool say that Luiz Suarez categorically denies the accusation of racism made against him by Manchester United's Patrice Evra.

During Saturday's 1-1 draw at Anfield, the players were involved in a lengthy dispute and Evra was booked by referee Andre Marriner. In post-match, Evra told Canalplus: "There are cameras, you can see him. He says a certain word to me at least 10 times.

"I was very upset. In 2011 you can't say things like this. He knows what he said, the ref knows it, it will come out. I won't repeat what he said, but it was a racist word, and he said it more than 10 times. He tried to wind me up. I won't make a huge deal out of it, but it's very upsetting and disappointing."

An FA investigation has now been launched, and a statement was released late on Saturday night.

"The FA have this evening been made aware of an incident that is alleged to have occurred during the Liverpool versus Manchester United fixture at Anfield today," it read. "Referee Andre Marriner was made aware of an allegation at the end of the fixture and reported this to the FA. The FA will now begin making inquiries into the matter."

Liverpool then moved to deflect the claims. "The first we knew about these allegations was 20 minutes after the final whistle when the manager (Kenny Dalglish) was asked to go into the referee's office and told about them," a spokesman said. "The first thing we did, as you would expect, is ask the player and he has categorically denied using any language of that nature."

Reports suggest that Dalglish was summoned after Sir Alex Ferguson had accompanied Evra to the referees' room and consulted with fourth official Phil Dowd.

Methinks Suarez has United scared, not saying Ginsoak would do this to try and put Suarez off his game, but This is exactly the kind of think Ginsoak would try to do, to derail Liverpools momentum 😛

Did you hear Fergyscum after the Match?

'That lad Suarez was diving all over the pitch' Ohh the fucking irony..... especially as it was supposed to be Ferdinands trip on Adams they was talking about

What momentum.

TBH i don't know what to make of it all

It wouldn't surprise me if suarez did tbh. He seems like he could be a tit. But by the same time evra has previous accusations

If he said it 10 times then the ref would have been aware he had said something after one time, as Evra would have told the ref quickly

i just hope he comes through this cleared

I think that'll happen regardless TBH, his personality, the fact he does dive & gives it theatrics will sort that out.

I love the way Evra says I won't make a big deal about while throwing out a racist abuse allegation in an interview with French TV

This is exactly how I feel about it.

He speaks!

Luis Suarez
I'm upset by the acusations of racism. I can only say that I have always respected and respect everybody. We are all the same. I go to the field with the maximum illusion of a little child who enjoys what he does, not to create conflicts.

Enojado por las acusaciones de racismo. Solo puedo decir que que siempre he respetado y respeto a todo el mundo. Todos somos iguales. Entro al campo con la maxima ilusion de un niño que disfruta con lo que hace, no para crear conflictos.

I think the fact he said the ref heard it makes it bollocks TBH, cos surely if the ref heard him use a racist word he'd at least book him.

Hahaha, I love the way that sounds, it's boss, even if the translation lends something to it.

Apparently none of the Sky footage caught Suarez saying anything that Evra is claiming. If he said it so often you think he'd have been caught once.

The players who were closest to the main incident were De Gea and Kuyt and De Gea said this morning he heard nothing.

Evra fucked me off from the word go yesterday. I thought players were supposed to be booked these days for asking for a card to be shown?
