VVD has requested fans continue with the sea of red after the spectacular scenes vs Spurs when we won the league with our fans in the ground for the first time in 35 years.
I know it’s often said the locals hate wearing jerseys or other clothes that make them look like an OOTer. Scarves seemed to be as far as many would go when I visited Anfield semi frequently before moving to OZ.
Personally I love the sea of red and have zero issue with any fan wearing the colours of the shirt to games to create such a vibrant visual atmosphere. I’m guessing Virgil’s request is influenced by the Dutch orange wall that is so recognisable at major tournaments (when they qualify).
Dortmunds yellow wall is equally impressive.
So should we start a tradition of a sea of red going forward or stick with the current approach of minimal colour from the locals?
