Echo reporting that the 5 sub rule will continue next season.

Surely that's too many. No one but city likes it.

I don't like it.

I think it diminishes one of our strengths, which is the fitness levels, as we seem able to outrun 99% of teams for 90 minutes.

I see no issue with it as long as they continue the rule where you're allowed to do it 3 times in a game + HT ... That has stopped one aspect of time wasting.

Agree with this, although if we had the right mix of players on the bench it could play to our strengths if we had more players we felt could rotate into the front three allowing our current forwards & wing backs to run the oppo more ragged for 60 mins and rotate them more. At present these five cause the most damage to the opposition but are the least interchangeable!

What if they limited subs so that 2 need to be youth academy graduates? That would ensure younger players at least get to be side by side with the top players on match day.

I like it.

I've always thought the idea that a team can only make three subs ridiculous, and unfairly exposes teams to the possibility of playing with nine or ten players. More subs means greater tactical play from managers and more chances for peripheral players to have a look in.

Having five subs would allow us to attract a top attacking prospect without him worrying about a lack of game time.

I dont mind the 5 subs, although it takes a lot out of the game towards the end. Its a great chance to give some more youth a chance to play and get some minutes.

But, what I really hope isnt coming back next season is that water break in each half. We dont need it, and it interupts the flow of the game.
On Saturday we were on the frontfoot creating chances and after the restart we struggled for 5-10 minutes to get going again.

One of the commentators also said that each break take about 3 mins, so we should have a lot more added time but not many of the refs seems to do that.
