I'd have to watch it again but I thought he was a bit meh. Ejaria, too, looked a bit overawed at first before going on to have a decent, disciplined performance. Tough opposition, of course, and maybe I'm being harsh, but I would like to see just a little bit more from them. They did nothing wrong, though, and I suppose that's encouraging.
In all honesty it was a bit meh, but when you consider the fact that he just turned 18 about 3 weeks ago and it was his first appearence for the first team it kinda puts things into perspective.
He didn't do anything special, but he held his own, he seemed composed and mature for his age and he wasn't afraid to go forward.

[article]Former Liverpool Academy coach Karl Robinson has revealed how the club beat off competition from neighbours Everton to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold .
The 18-year-old full-back from West Derby shone on his first-team debut for the Reds in Tuesday night’s EFL Cup victory over Tottenham.
Robinson, whose reign as MK Dons boss ended last weekend, was on the staff at Kirkby when Alexander-Arnold joined Liverpool at the age of six.
Everton were left frustrated as the Reds secured his services.
“I signed Trent,” Robinson told the 5Times podcast.
“I was watching the game on Tuesday night and I got all emotional.
“He had a choice between Liverpool and Everton, and we literally kidnapped him!
“We wouldn’t let him anywhere because he was so good. He was a striker as a kid.
“He was the best by a long way. We did everything we possibly could to sign him.
“Cameron Brannagan was a bit older than him. Jordan Rossiter and Connor Randall were also part of that batch of players we signed at six, seven and eight.
“I’m watching these kids now and thinking ‘remember the battle we had trying to sign him’.
“Back then you could play for Liverpool on a Monday, Man United on a Tuesday, Everton on a Wednesday, Man City on a Thursday and for Bolton or Blackburn on a Friday.
“We had to do so much to get these kids to the Academy.”
Robinson says even a decade ago he could see that Alexander-Arnold had what was required to make the grade at Anfield.
“He was brilliant. He was bubbly, fearless, the best player at that age,” Robinson added.
“Trent’s mum is an amazing woman who took him everywhere.
“I’ll tell you who he reminded me of as a kid was Jesse Lingard who we had at Liverpool and then lost to Man United.
“It shocked the life out of me that Trent is a right-back. Maybe it’s because he has the physical attributes to play out wide and can cope with the demands of the game there.”[/article]

Thanks for that, Binny. The Lingard bit was new to me.
Twitter suggesting that this is him as a mascot when we played Leeds in 2009.
Completely, every time he speaks he sounds like a passionate and caring bloke. Of all the useless journey men that get the chance at a higher level, why not him?
Hopefully there's a temp role for him at our academy.
