Trent, Salah and VVD

If they haven't factored that in, they are idiots.

Who gives a fuck what a few real supporters say? It's true that they'll have very little forgiveness for his defensive errors, but they'll also get a few unreal passes and it'll be new to them. They won't care if they are winning.

We tried to figure out how best to use him, and failed, but it doesn't mean it can't be done. It just can't be done with Salah in front of him, and it can't be done if he isn't willing. I've been sick of the imbalance of our team in that respect for a long time. Trent leaving is an opportunity to fix that. So was Salah leaving. We kicked the other can down the road for a couple years and it informs everything we do in midfield in striker and in RB.

i hope he crash and burns at madrid.

Why?
Most of us now are in our late 30s, early 40s, 50s I'm sure ... do we really care that much?
He's got himself a job with the man teammate of his dreams, a great salary, great weather, new culture and a chance to basically be top 2 guaranteed and compete for the CL, something he wasn't going to get at Liverpool.
Yes he's a scouser ... I get it ...

All that's great, wonderful for him.
However, why am I gonna care?

I hope most non lfc players play shit.
Maybe Divok I wanted to do well.

Coutinho, Suarez, Owen, torres.. name em hope they all are crap.

Divok, Bobby, Mane.. about the only ones I'm like hope you do well.

Let's hope Madrid going all out for English players means they'll never win anything again.

Pretty much. Though the upside of him crashing and burning might be that Madrid think twice about going for one of "ours" again.

I doubt it mate ... if there's a top class player, the biggest clubs will ALWAYS go after them.
Just like we'll continually pick them off from the tier below us ...
It's just part of the reality of footy ... and it's ok.
This isn't like God going to Leeds, or Shaggy to Real, or Owen to Real ... It's not Torres to Chelsea, or Suarez to Barca.
Yes, he'll likely get stick when he comes back as an opposing player but most of us are just watching our kids go through the same shit we went through decades ago.
I don't care like that ... Wish him the best, unless hes playing against us.
The only thing that is frustrating is that he didn't let us get a fee ... even big chin at Spurs got that for his club from Bayern.

Because we hoped for more, based on everything he led us to believe. It's really that simple.

To be clear, I don't wish ill upon him or his family, or anything psychotic like that, and nor do I suddenly hate the guy or diminish how important he was to us when we surged back to the top of the tree, but he's now just another in the long line of former players that used to play for us, and he could have been soooooo much more.

I don't wish (football) failure on players, just for leaving Anfield... It all depends on the manner of the departure. And this one's been bad. He's been our vice-captain (stupid decision, by the way) but he's not played like he's given a flying feck for a couple of seasons now, so I won't be wishing him (football) well as he leaves, either.

Basically, he's dumping us for something 'better', so why would anybody be surprised that people aren't too happy with that?

Stevie has been quiet. Reminder

In a 2014 interview, Gerrard explained: "It is very flattering to be linked to a huge club like Real Madrid.

"I've had a couple of options throughout my career to go to Real Madrid, but I resisted temptation because of the big connection I have to my hometown club.

"It may be something I regret down the line, for not challenging myself and having a change of scenery in a different country. But I would have had an even bigger regret if I'd left the club I love.

"I'm a big fan of Real Madrid. They are a special club. But Liverpool is my No.1 club."

I hear you - no issue with being unhappy, or hoping players are loyal to the club etc .. I do get it.

I watched an interview this morning and he said 9/10 people might regret not going to Madrid and staying at Liverpool, but he isn’t the 9 he’s the 1.

Fucking legend.

A legend who all but walked out on us weeks after Istanbul, and only changed his mind because he valued his kneecaps (if rumours are to be believed)

I've never understood those of you who feel that there should be an asterisk beside Stevie G's career, because he considered leaving... THAT Liverpool team was shite, and he'd have been guaranteed half a dozen more big trophies (and more money) had he left us. That, and his new manager was a bit of a twat - Of course he thought about it.

But he didn't.

Why is that not enough?

I doubt tombrown would mention it in any context other than a response to people slagging off Trent and using Gerrard as the model example.
