Since then Messi has become the best player in the world and they have sorted out alot of their defensive frailties, Busquets while not exactly popular makes them tick in a way they didnt while Rijkard was in charge.

No probably not. If its a true figure then that might be why he is hanging onto Owen. He might be planning on bringing some youngsters through but wants a few experienced players still there in case things don't work out.
