If you get the chance to watch LeBron James play, take it. Stop what you're doing, and watch the man.

He is remarkable.

Even if you don't like the game, you'll marvell at the majesty of the man.

By the time it's all said and done, he may rival Michael...

Enjoy it. It doesn't come along very often.

I agree, very like able personality also. Carries himself well, and very mature for his age, nothing like punk ass Kobe.

I'm not much of a basketball fan but I would genuinely love to see him play in the flesh.

I listen to a few american sports shows and one of them discussed LeBron v MJ , the first six years of each career. They didn't think there was much in it, but LeBron needs the championships to back up his undoubted ability. I don't think Jordan won an MVP as early as LeBron.

I saw him play at Auburn Hills against the Pistons a few years ago.

I think it was his first year in the NBA, so him and the Cavs weren't what they are now.

At the time I was more impressed with Allan Iverson. How times have changed eh?

he may rival Michael...
If he stays healthy, I think it's more 'He will rival Michael'.

The guy is just a phenomenal athlete. 6'8", dribbles like a point guard, posts up like a center, hits shots from anywhere and cuts to the basket at such pace that he's practically unstoppable. Great thing about him too is he's a perfect team mate and he sets up basket after basket .... Rebounds, Blocks, Steals ... The best player I've seen since MJ ... In about 10 years, we may say - the best player ever.

LeBron, barring injury, will be better than Jordan. He has to win a title first and with that confidence, more titles will follow. I don't think he'll be able to surpass Jordan's number of titles won but I think he will be considered better than him.

Now if we can get a way to get the Lakers to trade for him...

5 words.

Un. Be. Lieve. A. Ble.
It was a great ending, a huge shot, but Jordan did it again and again and again. The comparison, as it has been every other time, is 99% David Stern's hopeful hype. Also, they almost imploded in that game, even with LeBron.

Make no mistake, that was one hell of a tough shot. Top of the arc, caught the ball on the run turned and shot with a man in his face, incredible shot.

Bollocks, Ali.

Like all "great" teams, take the superstar out and they're distinctly average... Da Bulls wihout MJ are an annual first round exit, as are the Lakers without Shaq or Kobe. Yes, Michael's done it all the time, but LeBron's only been around a few seasons so far, mate. Believe me, he's getting there.

This guys has all the tools to be mentioned amoung the all-time greats when it's all said and done. Of course, he's got a loooooong way to go before that happens, but he's a more complete player at this age than Michael was. He's MVP at a younger age, too.

Whether he reaches and then maintains the standards set y Michael is another issue. The fact that he could do so is undeniable.

Plus, his oldest kids name is Maximus Grice James, how can you not like him.
Actually, now I dislike him a little bit... 🙂

You at work?

Game 3 starts in 2 hours. Orlando to win.

good call.

I think it's quite clear that the Magic are the better, more balanced team, and I expect them to win.

But LeBron may just be good enough to get them to the Finals almost singlehandedly.

Not if he hits 2 from 17 from outside the arc he won't.

You are correct, Ryan.

Even MJ didn't hit every shot he ever took, y'know...

I don't think he's winning it this year, but he has clearly announced himself as the game's dominant player.

If Cleveland can get a legit #2 banana beside him, they could win a few in a row. He's THAT good.

It's hard to compare them at the moment mate, because MJ sank title-winning shots again and again. Thus far, LeBron's done it in game 2 of an Eastern Conference final. There's a difference.

But yes, I get your point. Aside from Williams, he's got precious little support. Yet again West, Ilgauskas, and others came up painfully short for them yesterday.

You're right about the overall comparisons, but when discussing their respective progression at this age, the experts are almost unanimous that LeBron is more complete than MJ was...

I'll enjoy watching how things work out over the length of his career.

He missed how many free throws in the 4th?

Disappointed really. He either need to go to a better team or the Cavs need to get at least 3 more better players.

If Lebron does not move to a better team or get better team mates, I am afraid he might not be able fulfill his potential in matching or surpassing MJ. NBA history judge a player in how many titles he has more than how many points or assists or double doubles or triple triples.

That's not what is hurting 'em imo (They're a better team than the Magic in other words) ... It seems to me there's 2 issues

1) Big Z & the rasta man (I cannot remember his name, Varejo) have been rendered 'useless' by Howard. They're not getting anything from the 4 or 5.
2) Rashard Lewis causes them mismatch problems that they didn't have at all in the first two series.

1 - Yeah it's Varejao, and he's done next to nothing. Ilgauskas just isn't scoring enough at the other end of the floor either.
2 - LeBron has to go to Lewis on defense.

It's worth noting that Jordan had a top class support cast in Pippen and co. Still, very few players in any sport can boast his ability to perform in winning time - he was amazing.

LeBron is a freak of nature, but it's only when he starts winning Championships that the Jordan debate will become interesting.
