What next for Rodgers?

As I've said elsewhere, I wanted to see how Rodgers could get the team to respond after losing the FA Cup semi-final so badly. If he could get them to play with a sense of pride and show some semblance of being up for playing for him in the first post-Gerrard Liverpool team then yes, I would have given him another season. But he and they haven't. He's only part-responsible for that but the part is sufficient to cost him his job.

So let's assume he is a goner. What next for Rodgers? I don't think his ego would allow him to take a job like West Ham. I can see him taking a Moyse-like break and then popping up abroad.

I'm saddened it has come to this. I think he was desperate to make a success of this...sometimes arguably too eager to please hence some of his more outlandish comments and the slightly affected arm in the air goal celebration. Despite everything, I like the guy and I think he will make a fine manager just not now, not in this Liverpool FC. Good luck to him.
 
Could not give a feck tbh..

He can take himself and his eyeliner and teeth whitening as far away from this club as possible... The fraud...

It's impossible to see who would want him.

It's looking like behind the scenes Swansea must have a strong set up, because they can pick pretty much anyone for manager and things stay the same.

So you're left to judge him on his time here - bad signings, strange tactics, no evidence of any organisation, stupid interviews and a squad that clearly quit on him.

He's heading for Sky Sports at best, I don't see anyone taking a chance on him for a while. It's difficult to point to anything he's done that he deserves credit for

You could actually argue that Monk has taken Swansea a step further aswell.

As for Rodgers. He'll get offers but if they match his own ambition is another matter..
 
Rodgers is a terribly unlikable snake oil salesman. The fact that he's left his wife, kicked off a few pounds, whitened his teeth and started sleeping around the club as soon as he got some prestige makes it him pure scum. I hope his name never gets brought up again on this site. He is an egomaniac and a cunt. If he was successful for us I may have been able to overlook it. But as it stands, I hope he disappears 100%

Totally unnecessary that. His personal life is his own and no need to draw any conclusions from that. Ancelotti ditched his wife of 25 years to marry a young woman. Let us remove him from the list of managers we are considering shall we. Or because he has won stuff, it is ok for him to sleep around?

I do not find him likable. He has an ego and self belief which may or may not be commensurate with the talent he has. But that is a prerequisite for being a manager at this level. If he is sacked ( which I hope he is), I hope he finds a decent job somewhere.

I've read about him sleeping around the club which for me is just a sign of poor judgement. What's the word of this? Was it just the Hinds lady?

Her boyfriend went round to his place screaming and stuff. It's not very professional. The management equivalent of John Terry is what he is. Without the trophies.
 
I think most are going overboard with all this hate for Rodgers and talk of him struggling to get the West Ham job etc.

He remains a decent young manager with some flaws that have been amplified in managing a huge club at a transitional time. A lower half of the premiership club would likely jump at him once he leaves here.

For the record, I'm done with him.

Indeed.

Up until lately I was still on the fence as to whether or not he should go. After yesterday's embarrassment, I now think he should definitely go, but only if we can find the right replacement.

In the meantime, he's still our current manager, and I'm certainly not dishing out any "hatred" on him.

At least yourself and LTW have the decency to talk about him with perspective and respect, unlike a few of the other fucking dullards on here - "fraud", "not good enough for West Ham", from two posters who've barely contained their disdain for him from the word go. Everything good he did was due to chance, everything bad that's happened is squarely on him, etc.

He did a great job for a good 18 months from around December in his first season through to the end of last season, so for half his time here we were playing good football and showing title winning form, but that half of his career with us was pure luck. Get fucked.

He's not getting sacked and, after another disappointing summer in the transfer market where we lose out to Spurs on all our first targets, we will finish 6th or 7th again next season and not win a trophy. At that time, the only available manager with any pedigree will be Sam Allardyce.
I'm a regular Nostradamus me.
