Wijnut Broken

If we had a decent reliable left back we might just have moved Milner into midfield.

Losing two players than run and work off the ball, and replacing them with 1 who kinda does it and the other in Sturridge is not ideal in my book.

This has been my worry all along. We now have the team of last year with just Matip and Mane (maybe that other defender to). The bit that makes the attacking tick now has no Lalana or Gini so yeah it's kinda worrying.

Hardly a miss, he's been anonymous for us all season anyway.

Time to bring back the machine in Emre Can

Yeah Lallana out is bad but Can is at least as good as this dude. Isn't he? Did I miss something?

No - I don't think so; Can is more active but Gini has a better footballing brain; I have found that his positional sense and general movement is better than Can''s. Also Can has not started a game this season so his overall 90 minute match fitness is in doubt. Also with Gini he like Lallana seems to have that ability to get out of tight spots when there are few options available to pass. Big loss this - I get why we paid 25M for this guy.

Fuck, I was just reminded of Can's tendency to misplace passes.

Worst come to the worst..

Hendo, Can and Milner in Midfield.. Milner replaces Lallana, Can replaces Wijnut..

Klavan at left Back..

Coutinhio Firminio Mane up Top..

Nah, to much reshuffling for my liking. Better to keep most of the them like it is.
Hopefully Lallana is fit, and we can have Hendo, Lallana and Can in midfield.

Milner has been superb at left back, let's not fuck around with that. Losing Wijni the Pooh and Lallana at the same time would be a crippling blow, both have been massive parts of our pressing game, and as I stated earlier, Gini's contribution to our team has been substantial if not a little under the radar, if they both miss the game on Monday we will seriously notice it unless Klopp has a master plan to deal with it. There's still five days though, let's hope one or both of them make it back in time.

He's more energetic, but as I've described him many times, he's like a golden lab puppy, bounding round almost aimlessly at times.

He is nowhere near as disciplined as Gigi & it not only effects his game, but the midfielders in front of him & defenders behind him too.

Not that I don't like him, he is very effective at times, esp when pushing forwards with the ball on a rampant run, however his all round game can be too inconsistent to make me want him there all the time, although that consistency & positional awareness may well come with time.

At least Can will prove more useful than Lallana or Wijnaldum from United's aerial threat.

Can was imense in March and April.... But right now I doubt he has that fitness level. Anyway he can do a good job in a midfield battle so no worries There.

The idea of moving Milner is nuts - lets not unsettle an already nervous-at-times defence for this one.

I think a few of us are forgetting Can's strengths and remembering a few of his flaws - he'll step up for this one.

Heh. I can't spell his second name & didn't know his first name either!

There was a time in my teens I could have told you the exact height of every Liverpool player.

I wouldn't fancy Can vs zlatan or fellani to win a header to be honest. But I know what you mean though.
Yeah, they have 4 "big" guys we need to worry about from set pieces Zlatan, Smalling, Bailly and Fellaini. If lovren and Matip mark 2 of 'em it leaves Hendo and Can (as our only 2 other 6-footers) to try and mark the other 2.

I would rather have Lallana and Gini available though because with them in the team our dynamism would have run rings around United and they would have little possession and few enough set piece opportunities.
