It's time for some wild and baseless predictions. After watching some 5-minute, jag YT videos explaining who Arne Slot is, who do you think wins out from our current squad and who has their work cut out?

Top 3 winners - which players can easily adapt and grow further under his style of football? (Lallana under Klopp)

Top 3 players at risk - which players will just inherently struggle with the type of football Slott plays and stick out like a sore thumb (Benteke under Klopp)

1 Wildcard prediction - about a player who will either be transformed for better or worse (i,e, Firmino changed roles/positions and started to flourish, Sakho being bombed out, etc)

Elliott and Gakpo obviously will thrive. Bradley too.

Jones could be one to suffer due to competition/role. Nunez seems obviously unsuited but you never know

Carvalho is the one to gain most

Winners: gakpo - his versatility and intelligence will be perfect for slot
Salah - new lease of life potentially and may transition to a different type of player.
Szob - should be free of the shackles of babysitting Trent

Losers: Nunez - short of a miraculous turnaround I don't think he's got the game intelligence to excel, so he'll probably be an early casualty
Trent - I think he'll be kept at right back and probably be a bit fucked off with that
Endo - he'll be replaced

Wildcard - The boy, big harvs - this could go either way. I think slot will either love him, or drop him like a bad habit. He should excel in a slot system, but who knows

Winners: Elliott and Gakpo
Losers: Salah and Robbo
Windlcard: All gravy baby.

Top 3 winners -

1) Mac Allister - There seems lots of quick, interchange of passing in the attacking areas. I think he'll enjoy the shift towards a more possession-based game and his lack of athleticism in tracking and covering back will be less of an issue.

2) Elliott - what is true of Mac Allister is also true of Elliott.

3) Gakpo - Slot seems to like a player who can link up, play with his back to goal, and knit things together in the middle of the park. The Dutch connection might help, also, especially in the early stages. I would not be shocked if Gakpo becomes a player Slot builds a side around.

Top 3 players at risk

1) Nunez -
From some spurious reports, Edwards was quick to suggest Nunez was solely a Klopp signing and he isn't overly impressed with him. His biggest backer has left the club and he doesn't seem to be suited to Slot's game either. We all had doubts about it clicking for him under Klopp. Those doubts have only doubled with a new coach. He's also a sellable asset, which could put be towards any squad restructure.

2) Diaz - he just plays in his universe too often. Slot's attacking game seems to be about smart positioning, quick incisive passing, strong chemistry between players, etc. Does Diaz fit into that? Not for my money.

3) Gravenberch - Came here to play the 4-3-3 after there was no room for him in Bayern's 4-2-3-1 with mixed results. He may do fine, but I suspect a new manager is likely not in his interest right now.

1 Wildcard prediction -

Carvalho to play his way back into first-team contention.

Gakpo will probably be used more in his natural left position.

Gravenberch played arguably his best football in a 4-2-3-1 under ten Hag at Ajax.

1) Darwin Nunez - is going to calm down and score 27 goals next season, playing in side with a defined role for him.

2) Harvey Elliott - Soon to be known as Harvey El '10' tt

3) Stefan Bacjectic - We're clearly not buying a Defensive Mid. Slot trains great double pivots. Know who works be great in a double pivot??

Top 3 players at risk

1) Salah -
I just don't see it

2) Robbo - Think he and Tsimilas are both done. Arne prefers a LB who is comfortable circulating.

3) Szoboszlai - I love this guy. I think he's great. Could be perfect in Slots system... I just have a bad hunch.

Wild cards - Tyler Morton. If baj doesn't make it, this boy will

Why is everyone automatically assuming we're playing 4-2-3-1 next season. When Klopp joined he switched from 4-2-3-1 at Dortmund to our 4-3-3.

If anything, we're still a 4-3-3 team, but with the 2 central midfielders maybe now getting more freedom under Slot to act more as number 10's - compared to Klopp's rigid demands of central midfielders.

Yep. Who knows what’s going on inside that beautiful bald head of his.

It won’t be a complete rip up of our current style but now sure on what tweaks he will make.

Top 3 winners - which players can easily adapt and grow further under his style of football? (Lallana under Klopp)

- Gakpo - I think he'll become a consistent starter on the left
- Konate - with a more orthodox defensive approach, but also Slot's love of a high line will see him possibly thrive again.
- Szobo - he'll be a superstar next season under the dirty slot

Top 3 players at risk - which players will just inherently struggle with the type of football Slott plays and stick out like a sore thumb (Benteke under Klopp)

- Diaz - I worry that Slot will not enjoy his excess flair and he will either be sold or be a frequently used bench option
- Endo - love the guy, but get a feeling that Slot would prefer deep lying ballers e.g. Macca + Jones / Trent than a defensive destroyer
- Elliot - Klopp was really starting to trust him and he was coming into his own. With a new system, I think a lot of other players will get chances to shine ahead of Elliot

1 Wildcard prediction - about a player who will either be transformed for better or worse (i,e, Firmino changed roles/positions and started to flourish, Sakho being bombed out, etc)

- Jota to be our top scorer next season

He’s Dutch - he’ll just say it to their faces and shrug his shoulders.
I now have a mental picture of Slot calling the squad into a circle at the end of pre-season and pointing at each in turn " Shit, ok, Good, Shit, Fuck off, Shit, Ok, You are having a laugh, Brilliant, Fuck off, Captain, Not sure, Good, Why are you still here?, Fuck off ....."

Yeahhh I keep thinking he SHOULD be THE star player, under Slot, but like I said - just a bad feeling. I hope I'm wrong..

Oh dear looks like my reverse jinx has backfired marvelously. The Hungarian superstar has just got injured in a pointless friendly.

There are worse mental pictures you could have burned into your brain!!!

Buying a midfielder with excellent stats from RB Leipzig that starts getting injured regularly!!!

Hmmmmm… reminds me of someone.
